An IEP is not a label, it is a support plan.

Sometimes parents recognize that their child needs additional help but hesitate to pursue an evaluation because they are afraid their child will be labeled, treated differently or limited by a diagnosis.

But avoiding an evaluation does not remove the struggle. It may only prevent the child from receiving the support, accommodations and services they need to succeed.

An Individualized Education Program does not define a child. It identifies their unique educational needs and provides a written plan to address them. When a child qualifies, an IEP can include specialized instruction, therapy services, behavioral support, testing accommodations, classroom strategies and measurable goals.

Your child is still intelligent.
Your child is still capable.
Your child is still uniquely themselves.

The goal is not to place your child in a box. The goal is to make sure they are not expected to struggle without the proper tools.

Please do not allow fear of a label to stand between your child and the help they may need. Early support can protect their confidence, strengthen their progress and change the course of their educational experience.

Advocating for your child is not labeling them, it is making sure they are seen, understood and supported.

God, we pray right now over every teacher, principal, student, bus driver, school staff member, and family preparing for this new school year. Cover them with Your protection, wisdom, patience, and peace.

Guide every teacher as they educate, encourage, and pour into their students. Give every principal and administrator discernment as they lead. Protect every bus driver and every child traveling to and from school. Calm the hearts of anxious students and parents, and help each child feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Let every classroom be filled with compassion, understanding, respect, and opportunity. Remove every distraction, danger, and obstacle that could interfere with our children’s growth. Place the right people around them, and remind every child that they are loved, capable, and created for a purpose.

May this school year be filled with academic success, personal growth, meaningful relationships, and countless reasons to celebrate. We trust You to go before us and remain with us every step of the way.

On Monday, August 24, 1910 Village Academy will welcome our inaugural class for the very first day of school and we could not be more excited!

As we prepare for our own first day, we are praying for every child, family, teacher and staff member who has already begun the new school year. May this year be filled with protection, confidence, kindness, growth and a renewed love for learning. 💙

At 1910 Village Academy, we are building more than a school. We are creating a learning community where children are seen, supported and challenged to grow through personalized academics, leadership, entrepreneurship and hands-on experiences.

There is still time to become part of our founding school year:

At 1910 Village Academy, we believe financial hardship should never stand between a child and an education where they feel seen, supported, challenged, and encouraged to thrive. 💚💛

The 2026–2027 school year is almost here, and our Village is growing! We currently have only 6 enrollment spots remaining at 1910 Village Academy.
