🏆 Congratulations to Ms. Ravonda Showers-Brown, a teacher at Scurlock Elementary. She was recognized by Board Chair Mr. Ruben Castellon as this month's Chair's Pick during last night's Hoke County Schools Board of Education meeting.

We are so proud to announce that our students logged 8,481 minutes of reading for the Beanstack "Fall Into Reading" challenge in September! We are the large elementary school winner for the month.

The next Superintendent's Night Out is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at West Hoke Middle School. Come meet departments from Hoke County Schools and get important information about the county.

Our Bears are hitting their marks from the goals set this past week, and it is exciting to see! Every grade level met at least one goal, which speaks volumes about the hard work our students and teachers are putting in each day.

But what exactly is a SMART Goal? A SMART Goal is a Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound goal that helps our students and teachers focus on a clear area for growth and track their progress over time. Each week, our grade levels set academic goals in areas such as ELA, Math, and Science and work intentionally toward meeting those goals.

Seeing our Bears meet their goals is a reflection of purposeful instruction, student effort, and a commitment to continuous growth!

Keep it up, Bears! We are proud of you! 🎉
