Congratulations to Grayson's very own published author, Ms. Haley, for being nominated to take part in Keystone State Literacy Association's Author Hall of Fame last night, where her middle-grade fiction novel, "Miss Liberty" was spotlighted! 📚🎉

Keystone Literacy Association's Author Hall of Fame recognizes local Pennsylvania authors and allows PA educators to connect with these incredible authors, share books, showcase reading strategies and host book signings.

What an outstanding achievement, Ms. Haley!

Apples, apples, apples!🍎🍏🍎🍏

Our littlest learners spent their week doing a complete cross-curricular study of one of Fall's most notorious fruits- the apple! Grayson Pre-k practiced sequencing after reading Betsy Maestro's How Do Apple's Grow?, learned and labeled the parts of an apple after reading Apples, Apples, Apples by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace, used their 5 senses to describe apples, and even did apple math by measuring how many apples tall they were and used a balance scale to assess how many counters were needed to balance one apple.

To wrap-up their apple study in a hands-on (and tasty!) culminating project, our little Gryphons made their own homemade applesauce yesterday! We hope you enjoy a glimpse into their applesauce-making process, and maybe you will feel inspired to make some homemade applesauce of your own!🍎🍏

Cross country season is underway! 🏃 Our team opened at the Hilltop School on Tuesday with perfect weather and a hilly three-mile course.

Congratulations to Miles ('31) on finishing 2nd overall! Across Lower, Middle, and Upper School, our runners set personal bests and showed real grit from start to finish.

A great first meet for a team that doesn't quit. 👟

Ancient alchemy or 7th grade chemistry? 🪙✨

Today, Mr. Sizer's middle school scientists turned ordinary copper pennies into "silver" and "gold"! The coins didn't gain any value, but their plating sure changed: one got a coat of zinc for a silvery shine, and the other became golden brass, a copper-zinc alloy.

The alchemists of old would be jealous. 😉

And that's a wrap on Lower School's Back to School Night!📚✏️

Last night, Lower School families were given a sneak peek into all the exciting and unique hands-on learning their young Gryphons experience every day at Grayson!

Forensic skills were put to the test, Lenape weather terms were crossed-stitched, math games were tackled, rockets were constructed and launched, art projects were marveled and an unforgettable night was had by all!

Ms. Brody, your love of sports and learning is infectious and the Grayson community could not be more proud of you!⚽️🏆🦅

A night in the life of a Grayson Middle Schooler! Our Middle School families embarked on an evening filled with community building, hands-on activities and unique learning opportunities during Middle School Back to School Night- which is exactly what their children experience on a typical school day. From a chemical reaction, to paper airplanes in a wind turbine, and preventing a nuclear meltdown, Grayson families learned firsthand just how fun it is to be a Middle Schooler!

We're all wonderful! After reading the book We're All Wonders by R.J. Palacio, our littlest Gryphons showcased their own unique wonders by creating watercolor self-portraits inspired by the book. What a great reminder that are differences are what. make us special!
