Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Watching you walk across the stage was one of the highlights of our year, and hopefully yours as well. You came to Grayson as students and you leave as alumni, and we couldn't be more proud of the people you've become!
One of our favorite Grayson graduation traditions is the book presentation: each graduate receives a title hand-selected by their teachers to reflect who they are and what lights them up. Our way of saying we see you, and that we're still rooting for your curiosity long after you leave Grayson!
Looking for a bit of summer reading? Consider a title from our graduates' reading lists:
Portraits of the Mind — Carl Schoonover
Nomenclature of Colors — P. Smye
An Immense World — Ed Yong
The Anthropocene Reviewed — John Green
The Oxford Companion to Philosophy — Ted Honderich
How to Invent Everything — Ryan North
On Writing — Stephen King
All the Knowledge in the World — Simon Garfield
Red: The Art and Science of a Colour — Spike Bucklow
The Beauty of Chemistry — Philip Ball
Keep in touch, Class of 2026!

🎨🧠 Huge congratulations to our Middle School students who took the stage at the Society for the Neuroscience of Creativity 2026 conference in Philadelphia this week! Alongside acclaimed artist King Saladeen and Thomas Jefferson University researchers, a panel of three Grayson students discussed their work on "FACES OF SUCCESS"—a groundbreaking neuroarts research project funded by the Renée Fleming Foundation. Our student panelists blew the audience away, sharing how co-creating this curriculum built their confidence and fueled a passion for personal advocacy.

There is no better way to celebrate the end of the year than Founders Day!
During the Promotion Ceremony, our PreK, 5th, and 8th graders crossed the stage as they stepped into new divisions, a moment that reminded us just how far they've come. From there, the energy only grew. At the Awards Ceremony, students across all divisions were recognized for accomplishments ranging from national history exams to stock market competitions. And the Founders Day presentations turned every corner of the school into something worth stopping for: state insect costumes, a photography expo, open studio showcases, epoxy LED creations, and flower dissections were just a few examples of the showcased work that brought our students' curiosity and creativity to life.
We are so proud of every single one of our students! Cheers to the end of the year!

Up close and personal with democracy! Albert & Aedan ('26) and Keilani & Jack ('27) took on DC Close Up last week, hitting the halls of Congress, sitting in on committee hearings, debating the nation's most pressing issues in Mock Congress, and getting a front-row seat to how the country actually runs. The future looks bright and these four are more than ready for it! 🇺🇸🏛️

These kids were born in 2012 and somehow out-90s'd all of us at the Middle School Spring Dance! The chokers, the neon, the band-tees, they absolutely nailed it!
Here's to a final few memories made before school ends next week!

From the classroom to the creamery! Our 3rd–5th graders explored the Turkey Hill Experience and it was every bit as sweet as it sounds. They got a behind-the-scenes look at how ice cream goes from farm to freezer, hopped on a bus tour through historic Columbia, and unleashed their inner flavor scientists in the Taste Lab. By the end of the trip we were all screaming for ice cream, even the teachers! 🍨🐄
