It is with great pleasure today that we share a message from Mr. Jay DeFruscio, COO of the Office of Catholic Education, announcing Archbishop Pérez’s approval to appoint Mr. William D. Gennaro, Jr. as the next President of Archbishop Carroll. His appointment is effective Monday, July 27, 2026.

Since 2012, Mr. Gennaro has been an integral part of the Archbishop Carroll school community. After founding the boys and girls rowing programs, he has faithfully served as a classroom educator; Department Chair; Assistant Principal of Student Services; and Assistant Principal for Academic
Affairs. For the past five and a half years he has served as Principal.

Mr. Gennaro graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and a minor in General Business Studies from Temple University. He has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University and holds a certification in Secondary Education English from West Chester University’s College of Education and Social Work. Most recently, Mr. Gennaro was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Archdiocesan Rising Stars Leadership Academy.
