September 28,2024. With a stream gauge reading of 31.03 feet, this is the 2nd highest flood level on record. The highest occured on August 14, 1940 with a stream gauge reading of 35.96 feet. In these videos any trees and light poles are on normally dry ground. Between the trees and light poles are submerged parking lots, practice fields, and miscellaneous structures. Damp pavement in parking lots and ramps mark the high water marks. Water crested at approximately 4:15am this morning. Also under water or partially flooded in these videos are the dog park, animal shelter, community garden, shotput field, university wetlands... and more.

The Radford University Geology Program and the RU Geohazard and unmanned Systems Research Center had the absolute pleasure in hosting the new Radford University Dean of the Artis College of Science and Technology Dr. Steven Bachrach. He had the opportunity to sit and talk with both Student Managers of the UAV Center (Kendra Bolen and Garrett O'Hara). Dr. Steven Bachrach is now knowledgeable about data collection and unmanned aerial vehicles. He is now TRUST Certified and Stick and Rudder Certified, and we want to welcome him as a member of the RU UAV Center. Congratulations!

Meet our amazing Student Manager of the RU Geohazard and Unmanned Systems Research Center! Kendra Bolen is a senior in the the Radford University Geology Program. She has conducted many research projects and has always loved flying anything and with anyone. She has played an important role within the RU Geohazard Team and we are very thankful to have her.

He has done many research projects and has always loved taking any data and turning it into a masterpiece.
