Facilitating stronger partnerships between the community and Fort Knox is one KRDA’s key goals.

When Silverleaf Sexual Trauma Recovery Services reached out in 2024 about a grant to enhance its partnership with Fort Knox, KRDA helped make key connections that have furthered Silverleaf’s support to the military community. Today, Silverleaf’s Executive Director Dr. Jillian Carden paid us a visit to thank board leaders and recognize KRDA staff for their support in growing partnerships with Fort Knox.

Silverleaf does incredible work in our community. We are proud to have played a role in strengthening this partnership!

Community leaders who are members of the KRDA board of directors attended a live fire training exercise on Fort Knox this morning.

To witness the amazing soldiers of Charlie Company, 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division engage targets down range was awe inspiring.

The live fire training exercise was held on the 86th birthday of the 1st Armored Division also known as Old Ironsides, currently stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. The division was born at Fort Knox and its Soldiers are back on post this summer in support of Cadet Summer Training and brought their equipment so they could train on Fort Knox’s world class ranges.

Our thanks to the 4/6 Infantry Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Plumb and all of his Soldiers for hosting us. Thanks also to the Garrison command team for partnering with KRDA to represent the community.

Happy Birthday Old Ironsides!

KRDA CEO Lance O’Bryan not only leads our organization, but seeks out additional opportunities to support our community. He has a heart for the Greater Fort Knox Region and a commitment to serving others.

Today, we are proud to spotlight one of the new members of our Board of Directors: retired Col. Lance O’Bryan.

Joining the UWCK board earlier this year, Lance has served as President/CEO of the Knox Regional Development Alliance (KRDA) since 2024, leading the organization’s efforts to protect and promote Fort Knox and strengthen its economic impact. He brings extensive military experience, including three assignments at Fort Knox, including service as Garrison Commander from 2021 to 2023, as well as with the deactivated 3/1 Brigade Combat Team and the U.S. Army Human Resources Command. His military career also included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as assignments with U.S. Africa Command, the Army staff at the Pentagon and another Garrison command in Okinawa, Japan.

Lance is already leading by example in his new role on the board, rolling up his sleeves to volunteer at our Community Garden.

“There is something special about this community and I feel that UWCK is part of what makes this area special,” Lance said. Please join us in welcoming Lance to the UWCK board!

It was an honor to attend Maj Gen Hope Rampy’s relinquishment of command ceremony today at U.S. Army Human Resources Command. We wish MG Rampy all the best in retirement and thank her for incredible 30+ years of service to our nation. In addition to all that she’s done for Soldiers and families, she has been a stalwart community partner who we will greatly miss. Job well done, Ma’am. God Speed.
