The new school year is here!

Our parishes (St. Leo the Great and St Rita Catholic Church) will be having a special New School Year Blessing in September. All students, parents, & teachers are invited to receive a blessing and gather together for an ice cream social as we begin this new year of learning.

September 12: 4pm English Mass at St. Lucy
September 13: 12pm Spanish Mass at St. Patrick
September 20: 10:30am English Mass at St. Rita

A new chapter for St. Catherine's High School!

What a beautiful day to celebrate the past, present, and future of St. Catherine’s High School!

Today, August 25, we officially celebrated our new safe and secure entrance and administrative suite with a ribbon-cutting and tour. Alumni, students, families, staff, friends, donors, and community supporters came together to tour the new spaces, share memories, and celebrate this incredible milestone in the history of St. Cat’s.

The new safe and secure entrance reflects our continued investment in the future of Catholic education in Racine. It is through this milestone that we continue to make St. Catherine’s a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. So many hands, hearts, prayers, and generous gifts brought us to this moment.

As we look toward the future, we do so with gratitude for the Angels who came before us, excitement for the Angels who walk these halls today, and hope for all of those who will call St. Catherine’s home for the years to come.

The future is bright for St. Catherine’s.

What a joy to welcome 125 new Angels to St. Catherine's High School! 🤍

Today was filled with fun, learning, prayer, and plenty of new friendships. It was especially exciting to see so many of our Siena grade school students begin this next chapter as St. Catherine’s High School Angels!

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for the incredible work they put into making today so welcoming and memorable. And to our newest freshmen Angels—your Guardian Angels were definitely hard at work today, surrounding you with support, encouragement, and a whole lot of Siena love! 😇

What a beautiful way to begin our 2026–27 school year! 💛

After Mass, we gathered together as a Siena Catholic Schools community to celebrate the year ahead. Our time together centered on our theme, “Doing Small Things with Great Love,” and the Jubilee Year, reflecting on how God calls each of us to be people of hope, faith, and love in the everyday moments of our lives. We were blessed to have our Racine community of Priests - Father Thomas, Father Kolb, Father Timothy, Father Andrew, Father Mark and Father Jose Mario (who joined us at the new staff orientation).

We reflected together using “Holy Moments” by Matthew Kelly and spent time considering the small, meaningful ways we can make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

We also created a Hail Mary keychain with 10 beads—a simple reminder of Mary’s intercession when we pray and a challenge to intentionally complete 10 acts of kindness as we live out our theme throughout the year.

What a wonderful reminder that our vocation matters, our presence matters, and even the smallest acts of love can make a lasting difference.

“We can do small things with great love.” - St. Teresa of Calcutta

Yesterday, our Siena staff members reunited at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for our all-staff in-service. Fr. Thomas Vathappallil celebrated Mass and reminded us that our greatest gift is our vocation. Our presence matters, and even the smallest acts of love can make a lasting difference. Our guest speaker, Fr. Justin Kizewski of Saint Francis de Sales Seminary spoke about the Providence of God and encouraged us to recognize how God is always present and working in our lives.

We are so excited to see the impact our educators will make in our classrooms and in the lives of our Siena students.

We look forward to another great year and welcoming students back next week, Wednesday, August 26!

Each of you brings something unique to Siena, and we are excited about the energy, experience, and perspective you will add to our community. You are joining a great Catholic school community—one rooted in faith, committed to academic excellence, and dedicated to creating a culture where every student is known, loved, and challenged to become all that God calls them to be.

As families prepare for the upcoming school year, the Racine Family YMCA is hosting two days of free, family-friendly fun. These events are open to the community and are intended to give children and families one last opportunity to enjoy summer before school begins—no YMCA membership required. It’s FREE for all participants.

Tuesday, August 18 | Parents’ Night Out | 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Parents can drop off their children free of charge while they enjoy dinner, run errands, or simply take a well-deserved break. Children will participate in supervised, engaging activities at the YMCA.

Thursday, August 20 | Dive-In Movie Swim
Families are invited to enjoy a showing of Moana in our aquatics area for a fun and memorable swim-and-movie experience.
