Wadewitz Families. We are asking for your support as we enforce the new state law related to cell phones in schools. Please have your kiddos keep their cell phones at home. If that just isn’t possible, please start talking with them about keeping them in their lockers. We appreciate your partnership in this! Please reach out with any questions.

Beginning Sept. 1, Racine Unified School District will implement a new student cell phone policy in accordance with Wisconsin's 2025 Act 42, which requires all public school districts to prohibit students from using cell phones and other wireless communication devices during instructional time.

What is the new policy?

Grades K–8
Students must turn off all personal wireless devices and store them away from their person (such as in a locker) from the start of the school day until dismissal.

Grades 9–12
Students must turn off all personal wireless devices and keep them out of reach during class. Devices may only be used during passing periods and a student’s lunch period.

This has been a year of “New” here at Wadewitz. As our construction project comes to an end, I wanted to share one more new thing here at Wadewitz. The Wadewitz PTA has provided our school community with a new mascot costume and we could not be anymore excited. Thank you to the PTA for providing us with this. Can’t wait to show you all in person this fall!

This year we had 3 staff retire from Wadewitz. Assistant Principal Sharri Vandehey, Title 1 teacher Jane Hearn and Special Education Educational Assistant Cindy Andersen. All of them have had very different journeys that have lead them to the same place in their careers. And all have had a lasting impact on not only the Wadewitz community, but Racine as a whole. We are all better because of them. Please join me in thanking them for their service and wishing them all the best as a new chapter begins!

Good Morning Wadewitz Familes attending the 5th Grade Completion Ceremony. today. Just a reminder that seeting is limited. As a result, we will not be checking younger students out of class to attend. If you wish to check your younger students out after the ceremony is complete, you can do so in the main office.

Hello Wadewitz Famlies- As we wrap up another great school year we wanted to let everyone know that the LAST DAY OF EXTENDED LEARNING IS THURSDAY JUNE 4TH. There will be NO EXTENDED LEARNING THE WEEK OF JUNE 8TH. Ms. Tiara and her staff thank everyone for a great year at Extended Learning and look forward to a great fall.
