Earlier this summer, we asked our special guests and community partners a fun question: “If you could be any animal, what would you be?”
When we asked Jillian Frideres, a nutrition educator with UW–Madison Extension’s FoodWIse program, she chose a giraffe!

“ I’ve always wanted to be taller, and where giraffes live in the wild, they must have amazing views of their surroundings and other wildlife.”

We’re excited to welcome Jillian to LaPre this summer as she leads a 6-week nutrition program for our 3rd–5th grade students. Through hands-on activities, cooking experiences, nutrition education, and physical activity, students are learning fun ways to support healthy lifestyles.
