We'd also like to now introduce you to the man behind the curtain. The one who really brought the whole space together. If you don't already know who he is. This is Chris Roushia 😊

Chris, similar to Evie, has also been with us since the beginning. He recently earned his blue belt and has been an incredible member of the team. He's as loyal as they come and would quite literally take the shirt off his back to help the ones he loves (we've seen it). He always knows how to make someone laugh just by saying something stupid. Or eye roll. Whichever you prefer. Either way, he'll probably smile because he loves making other people smile & laugh, even if it's at him.

Aura would quite literally not be where it is at today without Chris. He took on the hat as "project manager" throughout the entire process - directing others, supplying ALL the tools (sooo many tools!), working late nights and getting up early in the mornings. He kept the ship afloat as none of the rest of us helpers really knew what we were doing. We kept saying "we just need like 3 more Chris's". That just goes to show how important he was and continues to be in our academy.

To Chris: Thank you for EVERYTHING. From cutting/ painting/ drilling the mat frames, guiding the other helpers when the owners couldn't be there, the many trips to Menards & paint store, for the countless hours and sweat you put into your labor, helping others learn more about contractor work, and most importantly for being you. We mean it when we say this place would not be where it is without you. You are more appreciated than you'll ever know. Even when you drive us batty sometimes 😉

Next time you're in, please make sure to give Chris the praise he deserves. He's one of the hardest working men we are privileged to know and we are beyond blessed to have him in our lives. 💫

We'd like to introduce you to Evie 🇦🇲 , aka the brains and beauty behind the dazzling space mural 🌌 aka, the tazmanian devil of Aura 😂

Evie has been training with us since almost the beginning. She started as a student in NJ who came to Mount Pleasant on breaks to visit family and come train when she could.

When she graduated, she started training with us full time, met a boy and now starting her life here in WI. Despite having reoccurring back pain, she still makes time to train and be with her Aura family.

We are so honored that she took time out of her busy schedule to design, shop, chalkboard it out, paint, draw, paint again, spray paint and make this mural exactly what we envisioned!

To Evie: thank you for all you did and continue to do. You are such a gem and we are privileged to train with you and even just know you. Your beautiful presence and bubbly personality shows every time you step foot in the academy and now everyone can think of you and how talented you are every day when they train at the new location. Thank you for creating the "WOW factor" we get to now see and enjoy every day 💜💙

Everyone else: please make sure to give Evie the praise she deserves when you come roll (lightly or else 😉) with her!

Andddd... That's a wrap!

After 9 consecutive days of being in the building until midnight+, 3 birthdays, countless hours of labor, blood, sweat, and lots of emotions. Our vision that started months ago has come to fruition. We are ready to OPEN AURA JIU JITSU!

Our soft opening will be tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26th for members only at regular class times. Then, you are all welcome to join us at our very first open mat on Saturday, August 29th at 11 AM.

Thank you to EVERYONE who stopped by, lent a helping hand, wished us well and stayed late into the night with us to make this dream come true. Words cannot begin to describe how grateful we (Nick & Brittany) are to have such a supportive, uplifting and amazing community in our corner.

Hello everyone! We are ALMOST done at the new place. We have been there every day the last 7 days in a row until close to midnight and we are so close to being done but not quite there yet.

With that said, ALL kids & adults classes are CANCELLED MONDAY (8/24) and TUESDAY (8/25).

We will keep you all updated throughout the week and appreciate your patience (moving is a lot of work!). For now, here are some sneak peaks and we will see you on the new mats later this week 😉

It's not every day you get to learn from TWO coral belts, especially on the same day 🥋

What a fantastic weekend in Vegas learning from some of the best. On our last full day we not only had a 2 hour seminar from Pedro Sauer, but also a 2 hour seminar from Fabio Santos. Along with another session led by former Olympic warrior Mark Schultz. What a room!

Between a kids instructor course, countless seminars, 100+ people on the mats, exploring Rio and building our network within the PSBJJA community, we'd say it was a pretty dog gone great weekend 🥳

Took a quick break from the construction process to train at the Pedro Sauer Jiu Jitsu Association team gathering in Las Vegas! Wisconsin is well represented with us & Coach Brian from Aura, along with friends from White Lotus, Open Guard and Pura Vida!

Today we learned so much from four incredible instructors within the association in a round-robin seminar. So many new tips and tricks to bring home to our Aura team 🥳

Day 2 tomorrow with the man himself, Pedro Sauer.

Feeling incredibly honored to be a part of such a wonderful community full of amazing individuals.
