☀️🎉 BEE Center Field Day Fun! 🎉☀️
What an amazing day of laughter, movement, learning, and connection at our BEE Center Field Day! Our students enjoyed a variety of engaging activities that brought our school community together and celebrated the joy of learning through play.
From parachute games that encouraged teamwork and cooperation, to bean bag toss challenges that built coordination and confidence, students were actively engaged and having a blast. Children also enjoyed our outdoor literacy station, where children curled up with books and shared stories in the shade—a perfect reminder that learning can happen anywhere!
Events like Field Day help strengthen relationships, create lasting memories, and foster the sense of belonging that makes the BEE Center such a special place. Thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers who helped make today a success. As special thank you to our Physical Education teacher, Mr. Johnson, for coordinating this year's activities.
💛🐝 At the BEE Center, we believe that fun, family engagement, and learning go hand in hand!

Today, our students gathered together to release butterflies they had watched grow from tiny caterpillars into beautiful butterflies. 🦋
As we watched them flutter away, it felt like the perfect symbol for this school year.
Our students arrived as curious little learners, and over the months they have grown in so many ways. They have learned to be kind friends, problem-solvers, readers, artists, scientists, and leaders. They have built confidence, discovered their voices, and spread their wings a little more each day.
Now, just like the butterflies they helped nurture, they are ready for their next adventure.
While it is hard to say goodbye, we know they are prepared to soar into Kindergarten with the skills, courage, and curiosity they need to be successful. We have been honored to be a small part of their transformation.
Fly high, little butterflies. We can't wait to see where your wings take you next. ❤️🦋

Early literacy matters!
As reading scores in Wisconsin continue to decline, we have made noticeable gains at Racine Unified! 📘❤📗
A renewed focus on early literacy has put our change in Reading Achievement on an upward trajectory for 3rd-8th-grade students since 2023. During that same time, the average of similar districts has fallen and leveled off.

What a wonderful way to wrap up the year! 💙🐝
Yesterday morning, the BEE Center hosted our final All Pro Dad Breakfast of the school year, and what an incredible turnout it was! From sharing breakfast and meaningful conversations, to hearing heartfelt “Pride Moments” between families and students — the room was filled with love, encouragement, and connection.
We are so grateful to all of the fathers, father figures, and special guests who took time out of their morning to show up for our students. Your presence matters, and the impact of these moments will last far beyond today’s breakfast.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s All Pro Dad events such a success. The BEE Center community continues to show what partnership, support, and family engagement truly look like. 💛🖤

Celebrating Early Literacy & Inventive Spelling ✨
Take a look at these amazing pieces of student work!
What might look like “misspelled” words is actually something powerful—inventive spelling in action. At this stage, young learners are using what they know about sounds, letters, and patterns to communicate their ideas.
In this example, you can see how the child:
🖍️ Connects sounds they hear to letters they know
🖍️ Takes risks to write independently
🖍️ Expresses ideas through both drawing and writing
🖍️ Builds confidence as an emerging writer
Inventive spelling is an important step in literacy development. It shows that students are thinking deeply about language—not just copying words, but constructing meaning.
When we celebrate these approximations, we send a powerful message:
👉 Your ideas matter.
👉 You are a writer right now.
Let’s continue to encourage our youngest learners to take risks, explore language, and find joy in writing!

Early numeracy starts with simple (and fun!) experiences like patterning! 🧠✨
Today our little learners practiced making and continuing patterns using pictures of boats and helicopters. Patterning helps build important early math skills like recognizing relationships, predicting what comes next, and strengthening problem-solving skills — all while having fun!
We love seeing the pride and confidence on their faces when they figure it out and show what they know. These small moments are the building blocks for big math learning later on! 💙
