We’ve got to hand it to this K4 team… they really have a nose for making learning fun! 👀👂👃🖐️

Ms. Miranda, Ms. Brittany, Ms. Bria, and Ms. Chrystal spent the week helping their class explore the senses with Frog Street. From giant ears and googly eyes to noses and extra hands, they made each sense impossible to miss!

Our K4 friends learned by looking, listening, touching, and laughing along the way. We think these photos speak for themselves! 🐝

🍎🍏 Which apple would you choose?
During K4’s “My Senses” week, Ms. Newby’s class put their sense of taste to work! After tasting apples, students added their preferences to a class graph. They counted each group and compared the results: yellow apples received the most votes!
One tasty activity gave our young learners a chance to explore their senses and practice early numeracy. 🐝

Teachers wear their hearts on their sleeves…and sometimes giant ears on their heads! 👂😄

Ms. Miranda and Ms. Brittany’s K4 friends started their Frog Street lesson with deep breathing before tuning in to this week’s sense: hearing. During morning message, students broke “My ears hear” into individual words, explored how print works, and spotted letter shapes. Those giant pretend ears made the lesson even more fun!

Our young mathematicians practiced identifying, extending, and creating patterns while sharing materials, exchanging ideas, and problem-solving with their classmates. These playful, hands-on experiences build the strong mathematical thinking skills children will use for years to come!

🐝 This week in Frog Street, our K4 friends have been learning all about their amazing bodies!

Through stories, songs, discussions, creative art, and hands-on activities, students explored body parts, facial features, and the many ways our bodies move and help us each day. These playful experiences also strengthened fine-motor skills, vocabulary, creativity, and self-awareness.

Learning is always more meaningful—and more fun—when little hands are actively involved! 💛🐸

📊 Early numeracy is about so much more than counting!

Our young learners created a hair-color graph using real classroom data. Through this hands-on experience, they practiced sorting and classifying, organizing information, comparing quantities, interpreting data, and answering higher-level questions such as:

🐝 Which group has the most or least?
🐝 How many more students have black hair than brown hair?
🐝 What conclusions can we draw from our graph?

When children explain what they notice, make comparisons, and support their thinking with evidence, they are developing mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills—all essential foundations for future learning!

🐝 Our K4 friends in Ms. Nelson’s class are wrapping up Week 1 of our new Frog Street curriculum!

During the “My School” theme, students compared fiction and nonfiction texts—building early literacy skills as they identified how stories and informational books are alike and different. 📚

They also took time to “Count with Confidence” while adding to their classroom Kindness Container—strengthening number sense and showing that kindness counts at the BEE Center! 💛🐝
