What a wonderful day at Imel’s Greenhouse! Mrs. Ashlie’s class had a fantastic time exploring, making memories, and enjoying this special field trip together.

Here are a few pictures from our memorable day!

🎃 We had so much fun with pumpkins yesterday!

We read Pumpkin Jack and talked about what happens to a pumpkin as it breaks down and eventually grows into a new pumpkin plant. The kids got to dig right in and scoop out the pumpkin guts, which was a big hit! One of our friends had the cutest pumpkin dress on, so we decided to copy the face from her dress onto our classroom pumpkin. We put it in a container with soil and will be watching to see what happens as it breaks down in our science area. 🌱

Our PM class read Hello, Pumpkin and got to explore with a smaller pumpkin too. The kids loved scooping, touching, and feeling the seeds. Everyone got a scoop of seeds to take home… so sorry in advance if you end up with a pumpkin patch in your yard! 😂🎃

Such a fun (and messy!) day of science and sensory play!

We had the BEST field trip to Imel's! For some of the kids this was their very first bus ride and field trip! It is so precious to get to experience it with them. Have a wonderful fall break!

Today we enjoyed biscuits & gravy, playing in the gym, spending time outside with our 8th grade friends for “Toddler Tuesdays” and talking about our field trip tomorrow! Everyone can’t wait to go to Imel’s tomorrow!

This week we are learning about the letter P which is perfect because today we had pizza and pulled out all our pumpkin and Halloween books! Tomorrow we will read Pumpkin Jack and learn all about the pumpkin life cycle.

When we have extra time I've been letting the kids direct what they would like to learn about. Last week it was volcanoes🌋 and today they wanted to learn about bats! 🦇 I enjoy learning new things with them. They are so much fun!

Pumpkins, pizza, and plenty of fun! 🎃🍕 Today, Mrs. Ashlie’s class read “Pumpkin Jack” and started some pumpkin experiments of our own. We also drew a name for our pumpkin, and the winning name was… Jessie! We can’t wait to watch Jessie change over time!

We wrapped up the day with a well-earned pizza celebration for all the hard work we put into our Spirit Week links. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this special treat possible!
