🎉 Celebrating Our AP Scholars! 🎉

Brooks County High School’s PTO hosted a special lunch to celebrate our AP Scholars who met the College Board requirements for the 2025–2026 school year.

🏆 AP Scholar Requirement: Students earned a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. Eligibility is automatically determined by the College Board.

We are so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication! 📚

A huge THANK YOU to our Superintendent, Dr. Reed, and our Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Cisco Diaz, for joining us and showing their support!

Welcome to our New BCHS Staff!

Meet Officer Melvin Morrison,

Officer Morrison joined us as our new School Resource Officer. He is no stranger to BCHS as he is a proud graduate of BCHS Class of 2007. He was a percussionist in high school. He has served in law enforcement in many roles to include Valdosta State Prison, Quitman Police Department, Boston Police Department and Brooks County Sheriff's office. He graduated from police academy at the GPSTC in Bainbridge, GA. He is excited to work with our youth as both a mentor and protector. Safety is his top priority and we are happy to have him serve and protect.

Welcome to our New BCHS Staff!

Meet Mrs. Britta Romero.

Mrs. Romero joins us from the State of Indiana. Welcome to Georgia and Trojan Country!
This is Mrs. Romero's 5th year as a School Counselor! She has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Masters of Science in Education: School Counseling. Both Degrees are from Indiana University. She is a certified School Counselor in the state of Indiana and Georgia. Mrs. Romero is looking forward to serving the Personal/Social/Emotional, Academic and Career needs of our BCHS students. She is excited to work with teachers and parents to remove barriers to learning for our students. Also, she will be working with students who have 504 Plans.

Welcome to our new BCHS Staff!

Meet Mrs. Ann Howard

Mrs. Howard joins our BCHS staff with 21 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor's of Secondary Education in English. In addition to Secondary English certification, she is certified in Gifted Education. She will be teaching Literature and Composition I, Honors Literature and Composition II, and Advanced Placement English Literature at BHCS. Also, she will be teaching Enhanced Literature and Composition at BCMS. We are excited to share her with BCMS with her passion and knowledge in advanced literature and composition.

Welcome to our New BCHS Staff!

Meet Mrs. Loriann McFather

Not new to BCHS, but new to her position. Mrs. McFather joins us this year as your new Media Specialist.
She has been in education for 9 years as a Special Education teacher at both the elementary and high school level.
She has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Specialist in Teacher Leadership. She holds an additional certifcation in Special Education.
Mrs. McFather is looking forward to seeing students and teachers come to the media center to check out books to read and use the resources available. Also, she will be working with the students who are virtual.

Meet Mr. Blake Johnson

Mr. Johnson joins us as a Math Special Education and Physical Education Teacher.
He is in his 6th year teaching and has taught high school Science and Physical Education (at all three levels).
He has a Bachelor's of Science in Sports Management, Univeristy of West Georgia; Masters of Arts in Teaching in Special Education, University of West Georgia; and Educational Specialist in Teacher Leadership, Valdosta State University.
Coach Johnson is the Special Teams Coordinator and Tight Ends coach for ther BCHS Trojan Football team.
