Day #2 of EASTCon26 has been a great success! Our very own Oran Wright took the stage as an Ambassador Team Speaker! Nevaeh Eichelberger led a small group as a TED-Ed Speaker!
EAST team members presented our projects to booth visitors and the judges, as well as networked and connected to the other 200+ school attending the event. We look forward to tomorrow as we meet more people and learn about even more project ideas we can bring back to our community!

For the month of February, QHS EAST students focused on kindness with an interactive Random Acts of Kindness bulletin board used to encourage students to do nice things for others. Several students participated with over 40 random acts returned to the board. A special thanks to Goldie Owens for performing the most!

This week, QHS EAST student Oran Wright has had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Leadership Team Retreat. Few EAST students are selected for this leadership opportunity and we are excited to see Oran SHINE at this year's EAST conference as an Ambassador Team Speaker!

QHS EAST is excited to announce that our very own Oran Wright was selected as an EASTCon26 Ambassador Speaker! Only a select few were chosen for this leadership role, and the first year Quitman has made the roster. Congratulations, Oran!

QHS EAST would like to extend a HUGE thanks to Cleburne County Farm Bureau Insurance! Due to their generous donation, we were able to purchase wireless transmitters and upgraded headsets for our Bulldog Sports Network, adding the ability to step out of the press box and capture football moments right on the field.
This student-led program will also be able to broadcast court side and from other sidelines as our coverage continues throughout all Bulldog seasons.

QHS EAST recently attended the EAST Thirty celebration at Greenbrier High School, the site of the first EAST class 30 years ago. Speakers included EAST alumni, leaders, and the founding-teacher, all who shared the history of the service-based learning classroom environment. We are proud to be a part of this 30-year program!
