Redeemer Children's Country Community

Redeemer Children's Country Community RC3 Co-Op was est.in 2014. We operated 7 years w/ students ages Pre-K-12th!! Very Unique homeschool organization. (Fall 2021)

Due to the director /founders husband unexpectedly passing away, this group has disbanded and shut down. We exist to offer a quality academic Christian community experience to support your family and aid in increasing enjoyment during your homeschooling journey. We look forward to and enjoy working with all our families and students during their homeschooling adventures. Our focus is to engage and

encourage the children while learning with their peers in a safe and fun outdoor environment.. Additionally, our hope is to foster friendships, connect other families and children in the home school community while honoring God in all we do.

There aren't any "rules".

Or, perhaps more accurately: we make up the "rules".

If we let go of the idea that children have to learn something by somewhen, then what changes?
..The idea is let go of. Children develop at their own paces. That's it, all that happens. We start measuring things to the child instead of to the norm. We all unclench our fists a little and relax a little.

This was already important before covid and it's 10x as important now. I have 2nd graders who've never been taught how to form letters. I have 6th graders with the emotional maturity of 3rd graders. It does me no good to compare them to the children of the same age in 2017. All I can do is take them as they are now, understand what's affecting them now, and meet them now.

[Image description: A quote by Idzie Desmarais that reads, "The age-based standards children are held to are essentially fake. There's no Law of Nature that says a child must read by X age, or count to 100 by X grade. Children naturally learn different things at different times, and their lives are not ruined by a peer having learned something first." The image behind the quote is of a concrete, grey dappled background, with a measuring tape at the bottom. End description.]

We split up the age groups a few weeks ago and started meeting at different locations so that the teens and tweens could get involved in a project that they have been planning for a while!

This past week they made a big dent in getting the zip line installed! It is 100 ft long and over the next two or three meetings they will have it fully operational!

Then we will have the younger group join in for a time or two to enjoy it as well!!

We're looking forward to resuming meeting again in early March... It's been a long winter break!

We've got lots of great fun and learning planned to include some springtime planting and gardening and more!

Since we meet outdoors this will fall in right along with everything else that we do!

We do have room for a few new families!
Anyone interested can pop us a message here through the page!

It's hard to believe we will be 7 years old this Fall!
