Based in Quincy, Illinois, The WIARC has nearly 80 members spread across the tri-state area of West Central Illinois, North Eastern Missouri and South Eastern Iowa. Goals and Interests

The WIARC is a general interest club chartered to extend the knowledge of amateur radio and the art of electronics; to bring together amateur radio operators and to increase interest and activity in the hobby of electronics; to promote the mutual interests of its members and the public in amateur or "ham" radio operation; and to provide a system of communication for civil defense and disaster emergencies for the protection, assistance and welfare of the general public. Big shout out to the Western Illinois Amateur Radio Club and Hannibal Amateur Radio Club this morning. They're having their 1st ever hamfest in Palmyra, MO and it appears to be a success already. Plenty of people, even have a vendor from Saint Charles, MO (near Saint Louis). I did bring some flyers and tickets down for them to give away. Congrats to the two clubs for getting this going and a thank you to them for filling a gap in the region. Now off to DEKALB Hamfest tomorrow.

A reminder that there will be a free tailgate flea market session prior to the September meeting on September 6. Because of the tailgate session, we will be meeting in Moorman Park in Quincy, tailgate starting at 5:30 PM with the club meeting starting at 7:00 PM.

Everyone is invited, we will try to secure the largest shelter house and parking lot in the northern part of the park.

Field Day 2022
The Western Illinois Amateur Radio Club will finally be back at the Red Cross in Quincy for Field Day June 25 and 26. Setup will start about 10 AM on the 25th and tear down will happen around 1:00 PM on the 26th. All are invited to come and help, watch or operate.

The Red Cross is located at 3000. N. 23rd.
