Starting today I will post resource information each day that may be helpful to young adults with disabilities transitioning to College, Vocational Training or the Workforce. My posts will include agencies and organizations, programs and services or possibly a thought provoking article, or book. It would be helpful to hear from folks following the Transition Consulting page as your feedback will let me know what is needed and helpful!
My first post will be a link to the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission which serves a broad range of individuals with disabilities with the goal always being EMPLOYMENT. The Commission is a vital resource to young adults transitioning from high school and offers a wide range of services whether one’s chose path is College, Vocational Training or entering the Workforce.

Here are the services offered by Transitions Consulting:

-Assisting young adults and the families to plan for life
beyond high school

-Provide for the development of work skills

-Opportunities for Peer support and mentorship

-Extensive assistance with College planning including
financial aid

-Referrals to appropriate agencies and services

-Preparation for work skills acquisition for the non-college
bound young adult

-Development of independent living skills

-Attention to all aspects of personal growth and development

-Opportunities for the development of leadership skills

I am pleased to announce the launch of Transitions Consulting.

It is our mission at Transitions Consulting, is to assist young adults and their families with disabilities to prepare for their transition from High School to College, Vocational Training or the world of work.

The services at Transitions Consulting, are geared to provide support and guidance to young adults during this challenging time in their lives fostering independence and autonomy in decision making.

Second semester junior year of high school is the appropriate time to become involved with Transitions Consulting , to provide adequate time for planning.

Services are designed to the unique needs of the young adult depending on their disability and anticipated direction upon leaving high school.

All fees for services will be agreed to at the onset of our work together and will be modified on an as needed basis.
