Lots of kid’s stripes and belts to go out for our Jiu-Jitsu students this week, on top of over 100 Taekwondo belts, but we want to take a moment to recognize our hard working Jiu-Jitsu adults who earned stripes this week! This class has worked HARD this summer.

A few months ago, Shannon and I decided to stop sitting on the sidelines. Dean and Gus were both getting moved up from Tiny Tigers, and after spending so many classes watching from the benches, we decided it was our turn to give Taekwondo a try. We committed to showing up twice a week, knowing we'd probably be sore, a little awkward, and definitely outside our comfort zones.

This past week we tested for our orange belts! Even better, Dean and Gus tested right alongside us. Usually we're the ones teaching our kids something new. This time, they were the experienced ones. They've been patient teachers, great encouragers, and wonderful examples for both of us.

Somewhere along the way we became known as the Mom's Club, and it's been such a fun season. We get to challenge each other through Taekwondo, motherhood, and now Healthspan. I don't know how often you get the chance to learn something new with your kids while they're the ones leading the way, but it's been pretty special. Here's to orange belts and the next cycle! 🥋🧡
