🦋 Today at Shore Tots Daycare 🦋
Today the children had so much fun continuing to observe our caterpillars! Some of them have already moved to the top of the container, getting ready to form their chrysalis — such an exciting stage to watch!
✏️ Writing: The children practiced writing about the life cycle of a butterfly, talking about each stage from caterpillar to butterfly.
🔢 Math: We worked on counting butterflies and identifying matching numbers, building both number recognition and counting skills.
It’s been amazing to see their excitement and curiosity grow as they watch this transformation happen right before their eyes! 🐛➡️🦋

🌿🐛 Next Week at Shore Tots: Bugs & Insects! 🐞🌿

Next week is going to be another fun and exciting week here at Shore Tots! We’ll be diving into our Bugs & Insects theme 🐜🦋

Focus: Backyard creatures & observation

What we’ll be doing: 🐞 Going on a bug hunt
🎨 Making fingerprint bugs
🔍 Learning the parts of an insect
🎶 Singing fun bug songs

One of the most exciting parts of our week… we will be growing and observing the life cycle of a butterfly! 🦋
Once they hatch in a few weeks, we’ll release them together—such a special experience for the kids!

Fun themed snacks: 🍫 “Dirt cups” with worms (chocolate pudding, Oreo crumbs & gummy worms)
🥬 “Ants on a log” (celery with peanut butter & raisins)
We are so excited for all the hands-on learning and fun this week will bring! 🐛💚

The children are so excited that we’ve officially finished our Poppin’ Alphabet Board! 🎉 They put the last letter (Z) up yesterday! Over the past 7 months, they’ve learned and grown so much—I couldn’t be more proud of them.
Now we’re moving on to new areas of learning and then getting ready for an exciting summer filled with water days, bubble parties, and lots more fun! ☀️💦🫧
