Our TRIO Upward Bound students had a wonderful time visiting SUNY Plattsburgh last Friday as part of our Summer Program!

Students toured campus, explored the involvement fair, enjoyed lunch and ice cream, and attended presentations from the Admissions and Opportunity Programs teams. It was a great opportunity to experience college life firsthand and envision themselves as future college students.

Our TRIO Upward Bound students had a wonderful time volunteering at Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga on July 10 as part of our Summer Program!

Students worked together to help with projects around the farm, including picking paddocks and adding stone dust to run-in sheds. It was a great opportunity to give back, learn about the organization's mission, and make a positive impact in our community.

A huge thank you to Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga for welcoming our group and for the complimentary Saratoga sunglasses! Our students loved them—as you can see in the last slide!

As I prepare for my next chapter, I wanted to share a few memories from my time with TRIO Upward Bound.

Over the past eight and a half years, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of students and families across our communities. The successes we celebrated, the challenges we overcame, and the relationships we built together are memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and for allowing me to be part of your story. You have all left a lasting impact on mine.

SUNY Adirondack Upward Bound alumni, we need you!

We're looking for former UB students to join us for our Summer 2026 Alumni Panel on Monday, July 27 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

If you've completed at least one year of college, we'd love to have you share your experiences with our current students. Talk about the transition to college, offer advice, discuss campus involvement, and help our students learn from those who have been in their shoes. Alumni who have graduated are also encouraged to share their career journeys and professional experiences.

Over the years, these students have become so much more than participants in a program. They have become leaders, role models, campus visitors, summer residents, college explorers, and members of the Upward Bound family. We have had the privilege of watching them grow in confidence, overcome challenges, achieve goals, and prepare for the opportunities that lie ahead.

While graduation marks the end of their time in Upward Bound, it is not the end of their connection to us. Our seniors will always be part of the TRIO family. Whether they are heading to college, pursuing career goals, or exploring new paths, they will always have a team of people here who believe in them and are cheering them on.

To the Upward Bound Class of 2026: thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. We are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished and excited to see all that you will achieve in the years ahead.

Congratulations, seniors. We will miss you, and we will always be here for you.
