Great D.I.Y. video!! 🔧
D.I.Y. = “Do It Yourself” — watch till the end!
Now that you’ve got your CDL, it’s time for Phase 2: learning how to handle simple fixes on your own. Doing these small things yourself builds confidence and keeps you moving.
Waiting on a tow truck or being stuck during a breakdown is frustrating — and costly.
I remember when I first started with DIY… it was air lines. Those air lines?.. You can swap them out in under 10 minutes.
Keeping extra air lines and a wrench 🔧 on you
(especially over the weekend) can save you serious time and stress.
One time, on a right turn, my red emergency air line cracked. I was stuck for 2 days because parts stores were closed.
Monday came, got the part & mechanic fixed it in 10 minutes. I lost 2 full days of work… never again.
Be prepared. Stay ready. Keep rolling. 🚛💨

This is a real story from one of my longtime students going all the way back to 2010.
Back then, Richie came to get his motorcycle license at a school I was working at. Who would’ve thought years later I’d open my own school—and our paths would cross again?
Life took him through some challenges, and we lost contact for a while. But when he came out, he chose a different direction—a straight path.
That path led him right back to me.
At the time, I was working closely with individuals through programs like Access-VR, EPRA, and the New York State Education Department—helping people rebuild, refocus, and restart.
Today, Richie went from a troubled biker… to an MTA driver.
Stories like this are the reason we do what we do. They push me, they grow Ayaan CDL Institute, and honestly—they bring tears of joy 🥹
I’m proud to be part of your journey, Richie. Congratulations to you and every single program participant putting in the work to change their lives.

Quick tip for riders 🏍️👇
Sports bikes = fast & short runs. Anything over 2 hours or 100 miles will have your whole body hurting 😅
For long distance, go with cruisers or Harley-Davidson style bikes for comfort.
Also—make sure your bike has proper cooling 🧊
More power = more heat = bigger or multiple radiators needed!

The difference between good drivers and GREAT CDL operators 💯
A clean license and zero accidents — that’s the only foundation. No shortcuts.
Great CDL operators:
✔️ Stay prepared with the right tools
✔️ Plan their meals ahead of time
✔️ Take care of their health on the road
If you have to eat fast food like McDonald’s, choose smarter options — go for low-fat meals like a grilled chicken salad or a small sandwich. Drink plenty of water and keep wipes handy. Stay sharp, stay clean.
Discipline is what separates average from elite.

Truck Drivers 🚛 vs Pilots ✈️ — which path is better? 🤔 Let’s talk facts.
🚛 🚚 🚌 Truck drivers can complete training in just 6–8 weeks, with programs ranging from about $1,000 to $5,080, including Road Test & Lessons. Once licensed, many start earning $45,000+ per year right away 💼
👨✈️✈️ Pilots, on the other hand, usually need a high school diploma + 4 years of college, with training costs reaching $100,000+, plus ongoing flight hours and certifications. Starting pay? Around $50,000 per year.
Both are great careers—but one gets you on the road faster with less upfront cost 💯
👨🏫 At Ayaan CDL Institute, we believe trucking isn’t just a job—it’s a skill, a backup plan, and a way to level up your life. Many students get their CDL to improve confidence, discipline, and multitasking skills.
So what’s your move… sky or road? 👇

NYC Drivers – Watch Out for Potholes After the Snowstorms! ❄️🚗
Major snowstorms in New York City leave behind a lot of potholes, and they can damage your tires, rims, suspension, and alignment. Here are some quick tips to stay safe on the road:
🚧 Slow Down – Driving fast over potholes can cause serious damage. Reduce speed, especially on local streets.
👀 Look Far Ahead – Scan the road 10–15 seconds ahead so you can safely avoid potholes before it's too late.
🛞 Keep Proper Tire Pressure – Under-inflated tires are more likely to get damaged by potholes.
↔️ Avoid Sudden Swerves – Don’t jerk the wheel into another lane just to miss a pothole. Always check mirrors first.
🚦 Leave Extra Space – Give yourself room behind other vehicles so you can see potholes sooner.
🔧 If You Hit One Hard – Pull over safely and check your tires and rims for damage before continuing.
NYC streets can be rough after winter—drive smart and protect your vehicle!

Some people get a CDL for work, others get it for pleasure 💯 — which one are you?!
Many of our students get their CDL just to enhance their skills, build confidence, and master multitasking techniques behind the wheel of heavy vehicles. One of the key techniques we teach is Gas, Turn, and Look — learning how to smoothly use the gas pedal, steer the wheel, and keep your eyes where the truck is going at the same time.
At Ayaan CDL Institute, our instructors make sure you’re fully prepared to handle these trucks safely and professionally.
No matter your reason for getting your CDL — we got your back! 💪

Learn how to drive manual — regular & double clutch — right here at Ayaan CDL Institute 💪🏽🚛
In this video, you’ll see how to drive a 13-Speed Tractor-Trailer. While in school, we train you on a 10-Speed Tractor-Trailer using the proper double clutch method — so when it’s time to move up to a 13-speed or even an 18-speed, you’re fully prepared.
Here’s the breakdown 👇🏽
🔹 Gears 1–4: Standard double clutch method
🔹 Gears 5–8: Each gear has a LOW & HIGH splitter (that means each gear has an extra gear inside it!)
Example:
After 5 LOW ➡️ hit the splitter ➡️ now you’re in 5 HIGH.
The best way to master this is by learning on our 10-Speed Tractor-Trailers at Ayaan CDL Institute. It has 5 LOW + 5 HIGH gears with splitters — making it much easier to understand before advancing to 13- or 18-speed trucks.
We also have a full double clutch tutorial on our Instagram: 📲

At Ayaan C.D.L. Institute we figured out the English Proficiency Test!
It’s actually simple when you know what to focus on:
✅ Memorize the sign chart – Know all road signs, their names, and what they mean.
✅ Know your load – Who’s shipping it and who’s receiving it. That information is already on your Bill of Lading.
✅ Master your Safe Start, Safe Stop & Safe Go procedures – This is part of your Road Test Exam, so you’re preparing for two things at once!
When you understand these basics, the test becomes EASY.
