Supporting children means recognizing their unique needs, not comparing them to anyone else’s timeline, style, or pace. Progress isn’t always loud. Growth doesn’t always look the same. Let’s celebrate the individual path every child is on. There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to child development.

I know how easy it is to fall into a routine of over-explaining! We’ve all been there. “But you have to… because it’s good for you… because you need to be responsible… because it’s not healthy… because, because, because.” Logic and reason are wonderful and yes, of course, you can explain your reasoning to your child. However, when your child is emotional, emotional support will “get through” to them more than repeating a logical explanation. It’s not about the logic being wrong. (Usually it’s right!) It’s about your child feeling supported in the moment and, therefore, you being able to better connect to them. Let me know what you think and if you can see yourself trying.
