Located in Middle Village, Queens, Christ the King School draws students from all areas. The school is accredited by The Board of Regents of the State of New York. The current enrollment is approximately 600 students. Our mission is to create an atmosphere in which all members of the faculty, staff, and student body can attain a high level of achievement based upon recognition of their unique abil
ities and their relationship with God. Our students are challenged to grow academically, spiritually, socially and physically to meet the demands of a changing world. Through the collaborative efforts of the Christ the King Community, students are empowered to become independent thinkers and moral leaders. CAMPUS MINISTRY
Christ the King encourages each student to live an active spiritual life. Through daily prayer,
religious studies and active outreach services, students are encouraged to reflect on their

CURRICULUM
Honors, Regents and College level courses are offered. Religion-Courses include: Catholic Foundations I & II, Hebrew & Christian Scriptures, The
Christian Way of Life, Faith and Film Studies. Community Service hours are required of all
sophomores, juniors and seniors. English - English 9, American Literature, British Literature, World Literature and Composition,
AP English, St. Joseph University courses in College English. Social Studies - Global History & Geography I & II, U.S. History and Government, Government
and Economics, Psychology, America Through Media, AP World History, AP US History, AP US
Government and Politics, St. Joseph University courses in College U.S. History. Mathematics - Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2; General Algebra II, Math 12, Pre-calculus, AP
Calculus, St. John University courses in College Calculus. Science - Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, Forensic Science, Anatomy
and Physiology, AP Biology and Advanced Research. Foreign Language - Four-year sequences are offered in American Sign Language, Italian and
Spanish. John’s University courses offered in College Italian, and College Spanish. Arts - Beginning and advanced course offered in Band, Chorus, Studio in Art and Design, Studio Drawing and Painting, Digital Art and Media Design, Graphic Art and Design,and Ceramics. Computer Science - Computer Science, Cyber-security, Computer Based Digital Design and
Fabrication, Advanced IT, AP Computer Science, College Fabrication. Training and exams for
Microsoft Certification and Comp TIA Certifications. Physical Education - Health, physical education for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and
seniors. Advanced Placement Courses
AP classes are available in Biology, Calculus, Computer Science Principles, English,
US Government and Politics, United States History and World History. Grading System
Christ the King uses a Numerical System of grading. Passing grade for all subjects is 70%. The weight added for Honors courses is 1.04. The weight added for AP and College Level Courses is 1.07. Standards for the Honor Roll
