Benjamin Franklin HS Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Jace Smith as the new Head Coach for Girls' Varsity Basketball.

Coach Smith, who's an on-campus teacher (PE), has been involved in the girls basketball program since 2022 and will officially assume his duties on May 11.

A graduate of Thatcher HS & Arizona State University, players know Coach Smith well and will continue working hard to grow and excel under his guidance!

Benjamin Franklin would like to welcome Destiny Atencio as the Head Cheer Coach of the varsity squad.

With experience at all levels of cheer, Destiny brings perspective to the position from time as an assistant coach, a booster club member and a parent to multiple cheerleaders. While positively entrenched in the culture at Benjamin Franklin, she is a parent of a student-athlete (baseball, basketball) on campus.
