On Wednesday June 3, former UVWS parent Madelaine Daniel will be at UVWS offering handmade Waldorf dolls and toys from the Q’ewar women’s initiative in Peru. The 100% natural sustainable products are beautiful and help support that community. In addition Madelaine will be donating 10% of the sales to UVWS.
Look for Madelaine this Wednesday at the 3:00pm dismissal!

Rosebud Classroom Doll Naming Ceremony.
Each rising first grader worked this year to carefully sew a doll. At the Doll Naming Ceremony, each child names their finished doll. It is a lovely rite of passage for the children nearing the end of their time in early childhood and anticipating first grade.

Congratulations to our Sixth Graders, who were dubbed knights at their Medieval Celebration last evening—each bearing the sword they crafted in woodworking class.

Before the dubbing, we heard the qualities in each student admired by teachers and peers, along with reflections on their acts of service.

Today, the newly dubbed knights embarked on their all-day Quest, taking on challenges inspired by the four elements—Fire, Water, Earth, and Air—through tests of strength, wit, agility, speed, teamwork, and courage.

The images shared here highlight the beautiful swords and shields crafted by each knight, a reflection of the time, care, and craftsmanship each student brought to their work.

The Quest is held in the spirit of true competition: doing one’s best and, in so doing, bringing out the best in one another.

This morning we sent off our 5th graders as they head to the Waldorf Fifth Grade Pentathlon 🏛️
An experiential extension of their studies in Greek history, mythology, and geography, the Pentathlon brings learning into their real-life experience through movement and challenge—javelin, discus, long jump, running, and wrestling.
Rooted in personal growth, beauty and grace in movement, and true sportsmanship, this beloved tradition is one of the most meaningful rites of passage in Waldorf education.
We are cheering them on every step of the way! 💛🏛️🏃‍♀️
