Our Philosophy

Little TINKER VILLAGE strives to provide friendly, courteous, tender, loving, reliable and professional care to all little clients that must be separated from their parents every day. We provide our services to the military workforce and families, defense contractors and civilian workforce of Edwards Air Force base, Air Force Plant 42; home of Lockheed Martin and Northrop, NASA and the surrounding areas. We also work closely with Emergency Responders and Law Enforcement Personnel. You'll enjoy peace of mind knowing your child is being educated and cared for in a professional, fun and safe environment by loving and dedicated teachers.

We believe in the importance of the principles for creating excellence in a learning program. Our philosophy comes from Mr. Jean Piaget a psychologist and epistemologist known for his pioneering work in child development.

Mr. Piaget’s theory on adaptation of instruction to the learner's developmental level was that learning has to be consistent with the developmental level of the child. Providing opportunities for learning, to explore and experiment on their own, allows them to discover and learn, so it promotes new understandings.Opportunities that allow children of different cognitive levels to learn and work together encourages younger children to move up to a more advance level of understanding, thinking and learning. Another level for instruction is the use of tangible "hands on experience” for children to learn. Providing the child with props and visual aids, materials to build and create, games that involve math problems, problem solving, mixing and adding of different ingredients and materials to classify and group information, presenting problems that require logical analytic thinking.Without a doubt, Piaget made a lasting contribution to the field of developmental theory. However, the relevance of his work clearly expands beyond his immediate theory of cognitive development to affect psychology, sociology and other fields as well. His work remains as the most important source for understanding and envisioning the elaborate study of child cognitive development.

Base on Mr. Piaget’s theory we strongly believe there is two important principles in creating an excellence in our program.The first principle is developmentally appropriate learning.
