Opening Day, Warrior Style!…Thanks to Col. Colegate, Sgt Maj Williams, District Superintendent Mr. Smith, DoWEA Faculty & Staff, the Quantico Band, PMO, families and the many Marines who took time out of their busy days to welcome our students back to QMHS!…Our enrollment is 12% above projections and our first day was fantastic!…Go Warriors!

A fun and productive 6th Annual QMHS Scavenger Hunt and Ice Cream Social this afternoon as students connected with old and new friends along with faculty and staff…They received their schedules, got locker assignments and tested their lunch pins while navigating the building and finding the Information Center, named that tune in band, identified different college and university pennants, wrote summer stories and showed their microscope skills…Students also analyzed artwork, completed 2 math challenges, found historical documents and artifacts from the school, tracked down DJ Bones and learned about Habits of the Mind…They also located the Health Clinic, learned the international symbol for friendship, visited JROTC and they were introduced to Growth Mindset…Upon completion of the Scavenger Hunt they earned a cool treat from our PEA…Great job Warriors!…We’ll see you Monday!

Thanks to our faculty alumni Jeannette and Barry Hall for taking time out of their busy summer to collect and catalog these amazing historical artifacts that date all the way back to the original Quantico Post School in 1942…Next time you are in please take a few minutes to look at the incredible repository the Halls have created in our main display case in the QMHS foyer!…Every school has a story and this exhibit is particularly rich as it celebrates the 80+ years of educating military connected students on Marine Corps Base Quantico!…Thank you Halls!
