Love our educational posters! We often use visual reference to instruct our students on a variety of topics covering horse health, anatomy, nutrition and behavior!
Always growing, always learning, always striving for the best!
There's always something to learn with the art of Horsemanship!

Oftentimes especially with horses, we humans rush to judgement..
We hurry to treat symptoms, yet skip the most important step!
Identifying the root cause of the issue.
Take your time with your horse. They're worth it! Otherwise, quite honestly, please don't own them.
Too many times and far too often I see and hear.
My horse is just stubborn.
My horse just does this head tossing thing for attention.
My horse is lazy
My horse wastes hay
My horse dunks hay and makes a mess in his/her buckets
My horse is bad.
My horse dances on the crossties for grooming
My horse won't stand still for tacking up
My horse moves off the mounting block right before I get on..
Well guess what. Your horse is probably suffering from some physical discomfort or downright pain!
NOW DO THIS..
Replace the word "Horse" with "Child"
Now replace the equine activity described above with a like human one.
Now your thinking changes immediately to.
WHY is that child not standing still to get her hair brushed? Clothes on? Shoes on?
I need to find out WHY so I can help them.
The child can tell you. Ouch!
You're being too hard brushing my hair. Or. There are knots. Or. Child has a sore arm or leg thus getting dressed hurts a bit. . .
Horses can't speak verbally but do tell us EXACTLY what we need to know to care for them but . .
We need to be LISTENING! OBSERVING & PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION to WHAT the horse is communicating to us!
More on this topic to come!
Including a study done with one of our own horses.

Horsemanship Tip:
It's NEVER the horse's fault. EVER.
There are reasons why a horse 'misbahaves' that have zero to do with 'attitude' but, what if.. Just what if..
their perceived 'misbahavior' is just their way of communicating...
* PHYSICAL PAIN (including dental & hoof care)
* INSUFFICIENT / DIET ISSUES (too much cereal grains, not enough forage, feed doesn't meet work load or general nutritional needs etc..)
* CONFUSION (with your cues or actions)
* FEAR (just being a prey animal)
* ENVIRONMENT (problem with too much stall time, outdoor issues, herd dynamic etc..)
When your horse 'acts up' ALWAYS check PHYSICAL FIRST then work your way down the list..
EACH TIME you interact with your horse..
check YOUR ACTIONS/CUES.
if you are NOT COMMUNICATING in a way your horse UNDERSTANDS..
then HOW can your horse DO WHAT YOU'RE ASKING?
REMEMBER: EVERY TIME you interact with your horse, You Are TEACHING them something. GOOD or BAD. But
YOU ARE TEACHING THEM...
Think about this. Understand it. Take it on board. Absorb it. Practice & Repeat.
Then STOP BLAMING YOUR HORSE!
You're Welcome!

On this Memorial Day.
Remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and have given THEIR LIVES so YOU can live yours FREE! πΊπΈ
The BEST way to honor their memory and sacrifice is to not allow those hard fought freedoms to be stripped away by a false narrative and government overreach.
Otherwise, their sacrifice, was in vain.
So stand-up! Honor the fallen and stand firm in your freedoms. Your Constitutional rights!
Pray for those serving currently and for the gold star families that have lost military members.
Support Veterans and Military.
Have a Blessed Day. πΊπΈ
