A vacancy on the FTS Board of Education opened on July 18, giving an opportunity for members of the community to submit their interest in filling this seat through January 6, 2027.

Due to the timing of the resignation, the substantial remaining length of that seat’s term, and the governing laws; the Board will:

1) Seek to appoint a qualified volunteer for a 4 month term lasting from September ‘26 through early January ‘27 and within 65 days of receiving resignation notice.

2) Ensure that seat is placed on public ballot this November’s general election for the community to elect a candidate to serve the remainder of the original term from January ‘27 to January ‘28. (One-Year Term)

Letters of interest for the 4 month term appointment will be accepted through August 12th by email to [email protected].

-Interviews are planned to be conducted in open session at the August 19th general meeting.
-With swearing-in scheduled for the September 16th meeting pending board approval of a qualified candidate and background check.
-Onboarding and NJSBA training to follow.
-Term ends on or around January 6th 2027.

FYI: County construction project on Quakertown Road begins on July 6th . A fresh road to go with our new parking lot! It’s a busy summer of improvements in our town! Go Lions! Go Franklin Twp!

Road Construction Notification:
📍County Route 579, Franklin Township

CCM Contracting, Inc. will begin work on high-risk tree removal, drainage improvements, and resurfacing of County Route 579 (Quakertown Rd) from the intersection with County Route 616 to the intersection with County Route 615 (Pittstown Rd) in Franklin Township, beginning on or about July 6th and continue for approximately 42 calendar days.

Expect delays and one lane traffic during this time. Delays may be up to 15 minutes at a time; please plan an alternate route.
