June-July 2026 News
Happy Summertime!
July 4th week Studio will be closed. 6/29-7/5/2026 Thank You!
Performance Festival Congratulations to all participants! We are so proud of you! Many thanks to everyone for the hard work and practice! The students had a lot of fun performing their music and striving to do their personal best!
Thank you to ALL our volunteers who made the event possible!
The event was a great learning experience and a real blessing!
Reminder If you haven’t yet paid the Performance fees, please add the $15 to the June tuition fee.
Thanks so much for taking care of that!
Fall Performances Selections of music should be taking place now. Be sure to participate in this exciting preparation process so your young person will be aware of your interest and encouragement of their efforts. Don’t miss out on the fun and excitement--be practicing diligently over the summer for our Fall Event. Holiday Performance Concert will tentatively be on Saturday December 5th.
Save the date and mark your calendars!
Summer Lessons We teach year-round and Piano lessons continue as scheduled throughout the summer. Summer is a great time to advance in Piano since homework and sports won’t be making demands on the student’s time. Morning practice is good, leaving the rest of the day for the pool, beach, fishing, etc. Important things get done if they are scheduled!
Vacations: Important- Please let us know when you will be away. The Studio is open all summer (except July 4th week). Our tuition fee schedule does not change, even if you are away for more than one week since we do not charge for extra lessons taught during the year on 5-lesson months.
Thank you for understanding and paying your tuition in a timely manner.
Practice-practice! When you are at home, maintain a regular practice schedule. When you are
away, take along a portable keyboard, flashcards and extra note-speller books. You can have fun and make a game out of using these things. Show interest, be positive and enthusiastic. Offer to take your young person to the Music store and let them shop for Classical or Sacred music pieces—CD or sheet music. It’s inexpensive and your young person will be thrilled. Also, take them to an outdoor band or orchestra concert over the summer or to one of our recitals. Many music venues and theatres have concerts or musicals. Music is such a wholesome and comforting interest for anyone. Take advantage of the ‘lazy days” of summer to experience
some of these outings with your children!
Have a Great Summer and Thank You for your help and support in all of these matters!
We have such a fun time learning. Our goal and mission is to enrich and beautify our student’s lives with the joy of music. Remember, Piano is forever!
We LOVE teaching music to your children!

A wise comment was made about Performing: ”It’s not so very important how a student does at Recital that matters, but the preparation leading up to it.” In other words, greater advancement is made in our piano skills as we prepare for our performance. We all need goals and reasons to strive toward our goal.
Piano Tuning Have you had your piano tuned lately? Spring is one of the best times to have it done. Ask for tuners names and numbers. We have catalogs for metronomes and we have music dictionaries here available or we can recommend a good music store where you can choose your own.
Why learn to play piano? Besides learning beautiful music, piano lessons help build and strengthen coordination, verbal abilities, and abstract reasoning skills.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Springtime to all!
Be a part of all the excitement and fun!

January 2026 Piano News
Happy Healthy Safe New Year 2026! We hope each of you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends and wonder if perhaps your young person had an opportunity to play the piano at some gatherings or celebrations.
All of us at Grand Staff Studio want to thank you for all the gifts and cards and well wishes that you so sweetly and generously bestowed upon us! We’re very appreciative and grateful to all!
MLK Day YES-we are open and all lessons will be held Monday Jan. 19th.
Competitions Let’s press forward with our goal of being ready for Spring Competitions and Performances. The date is set for Saturday May 2th at the Highland Park Hall. Be preparing now!
Keyboard Adventures- Our Second 6-week Semester of Keyboard Adventures will start on Thursday TBD More info later.
Snow Alert! Our policy for bad weather is simply this: We are always here and usually open. If you can get here safely, we will teach-but please use your good judgment about safety and road conditions. Our tuition system is set up so that you can miss four or five lessons per year and still have not lost any time that you’ve paid for. We want your child here safely!
Now that your student is back in school, please establish a specific time in the day for piano practice. Anything that is done “hit or miss” usually ends up being a failure. Your child’s success at piano depends on help from you with practice scheduling. As we’ve said before, after supper is a good time. Give them your attention as a listener or helper if they will allow. This kind of time spent with your child really pays off.
Important: Please remember that tuition is due on the first lesson of the month.
Our teachers would appreciate it. Thanks!
A famous quote about practice: “What we Hope to do with Ease, we must first Learn to do with Diligence”.
Thank you again for your efforts on behalf of your child. We appreciate your loyalty, encouragement and support.
Long after the toys of childhood are forgotten,
the gift of music will remain.
Happy, Safe and Healthy New Year 2026! Make daily Piano practice a resolution!
We love teaching your children!
