FREE SUMMER LUNCHES FOR KIDS & TEENS!

When school is out, nutritious meals are still available, thanks to the St. Luke's University Health Network Summer Meals Program; free lunches are available to all children and teens ages 18 and younger throughout the summer. No registration is required.

When: NOW – August 22

Days and Times: Monday–Friday | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Note: No meals will be served on July 4.

In addition to lunch, children will receive a bag of non-perishable food each Friday to help support families over the weekend. Families will also be connected with fresh, local produce through the Quakertown Farmers Market.

The Quakertown Community School District is honored to celebrate the retirement of Chris Goerlitz from Strayer Middle School. It is with gratitude and joy that we wish Chris a beautiful next chapter. We cannot thank him enough for his dedication, and although he is retiring, his legacy and impact will be felt for years to come.

We had a chance to invite Dr. Bubser (former Strayer Principal, who worked with Chris for many years) to share her thoughts and appreciation:
Chris served the QCSD for 27 years as a social studies teacher at both the Quakertown Community High School and Strayer Middle School, leaving a lasting impact on countless colleagues and students. Beyond the classroom, Chris generously gave his spare time to coaching wrestling, helping our student-athletes build confidence, perseverance, and learn the value of teamwork. His passion for social students and dedication to professional growth were an inspiration to those around him. Chris's contributions to the QCSD community have helped to shape generations of Panthers, and he will be greatly missed.

Thank you, Chris, for your years of support, patience, and commitment to our students, staff, and the entire Quakertown Community School District community. It has been a privilege to work alongside you, and we are thrilled for you to begin this exciting new chapter. May your retirement be filled with good health and opportunities to pursue your passions!

The Quakertown Community School District is honored to celebrate 2 retirees from the Sixth Grade Center, Bridget Beynon-Mortimer and Carrie Hayes

Collectively, these extraordinary women have served the Quakertown Community School District and its students for 57 years! It is with gratitude and joy that we wish all our retirees a beautiful next chapter. We cannot thank you enough for your dedication, and although they are retiring, their legacy and impact will be felt for years to come.

We had a chance to invite Mr. Dinney to share his thoughts and appreciation:

From Mr. Adam Dinney, in honor of Bridget Beynon-Mortimer: It is a bittersweet honor to celebrate educators who have left such an indelible mark on a school community. Even though I’ve only been in the Sixth Grade Center for a year, Bridget's legacy is so profound that it feels as though I’ve worked alongside her for decades. Bridget is the definition of a "master of all trades," having served our district with heart and expertise as a Reading, ELA, Special Education, and Math teacher before finishing her storied career in our Science department. While I have only had the privilege of being her principal this year, her reputation preceded her, and her presence in our halls feels like a fundamental part of this building's DNA. Bridget’s versatility is matched only by her dedication; she met every new challenge with grace and a deep love for her students. We aren’t just losing a teacher; we are losing a cornerstone of our community. She will be missed more than words can say.

From Mr. Adam Dinney, in honor of Carrie Hayes: Carrie is frequently described by her colleagues as the "consummate professional," but to her students, she is a time-traveler and a storyteller. She has a rare gift for challenging her 6th graders while keeping the joy of learning at the forefront. Whether she is dressing up as a historical figure or virtually transporting her students to the ancient lands they are researching, Carrie makes the past feel incredibly present. In my short year here, I have been constantly inspired by her energy and her ability to bring a curriculum to life. The "magic" she brings to her classroom is irreplaceable, and our hallways will feel much quieter without her vibrant spirit.

We were lucky to surprise Mrs. Hayes and celebrate her with Dr. Hoffman.

On Monday, June 1st, our sixth-grade students had the opportunity to explore Strayer Middle School! Tour guides welcomed students as they entered Strayer and headed to the auditorium to learn some of the ins and outs of middle school. Principal Dr. Crater and Assistant Principal Ms. Maddon stopped by to say hello and welcome students during their tour of the school. Sixth graders also met with club representatives and explored the hallways! It was a great day to start planning for the 2026–2027 school year.

Fresh air. S’mores. Fishing. And friends. What a joy and privilege it was to join our 7th-grade students at Camp Nock-A-Mixon for Outdoor School this past week. Students spent two days participating in outdoor activities such as canoeing, archery, hiking, and more—even Dr. Hoffman got in on the fun!

But the work of creating Outdoor School’s menu began last winter in Ms. Jerrom’s health and physical education class. Eighth-grade students explored an interactive nutrition lesson on food groups to help create the Outdoor School menu. Each class began with independent interactive activities where students focused on different food groups each day. This project was developed with ongoing support from QCSD Instructional Coach Mr. Silvius. Together, they designed the lesson to provide students with faster feedback, create a more collaborative experience, and allow teachers to be more present during instruction.

It’s that time of year again… Sixth Grade Center Field Day Sign-Ups are here! ☀️🎉

We’re getting ready for a fun-filled last day of school on Wednesday, June 10, and we’re asking for help from our amazing families to make the day a success!

We are looking for:
✅ Parent chaperones from 10:15 AM – 2:15 PM
✅ Donations of supplies to help activities run smoothly

Please note: All volunteers must have current clearances on file to participate.

Donations may be dropped off at the main office during school hours. To help us prepare, we kindly ask that all items be received by Friday, June 5.
