🔥 First Annual WCS GRILL-OFF! 🔥

The competition was HOT today as staff from across our programs fired up the grills, brought their best dishes, and showed off their creativity and team spirit!

A special shout-out to the STTAR-B-Ques for providing a huge offering of different dishes and our kitchen team for helping round out the feast! We even got to enjoy some of Jenna's famous beans!

What better way to kick off a new school year than with great food, lots of laughs, a little friendly competition, and some time to hang out with coworkers from across campus!

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better... the ice cream truck pulled up! 🍦😄

Who’s ready to come back to school?! WE ARE! 🙋‍♀️

Today, our Education staff spent the day training and getting ready to welcome students back to their classrooms. Classes were assigned, skills were refreshed, training was updated, and old friends reconnected — all in preparation for another great school year!

Even our campus dogs, Beezley and Oreo, got in on the action! 🐾 They spent some time stretching their own skills so they’ll be ready to welcome students back this week.

We can’t wait to see everyone!

There’s something incredibly special about seeing the heart behind the work happening at Waterford Country School in Quaker Hill. 🫏💚

This morning, Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Membership Director, Megan Yardis, had the pleasure of attending Coffee with the new CEO, Elise Johansen, and hearing about her vision for the future of Waterford Country School. The refreshments even included quiche made with Waterford Country School fresh chicken eggs!
Megan was also fortunate enough to tour the school afterward and meet members of the leadership team and board.
Every day, Waterford Country School is helping change the growth trajectory for children who are struggling—through therapeutic animal interaction, nature-based enrichment, hands-on learning, and, perhaps most importantly, compassionate and dedicated staff who meet each child where they are.
It was inspiring to see that mission in action and to learn more about the people and vision behind it. Thank you to Elise, Suzi, and the entire Waterford Country School team, for being so welcoming and sharing the incredible work you do for children and families in our community. 💙

This summer absolutely flew by! From big adventures and plenty of laughs to new friendships and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time, it’s been one amazing summer with an incredible group of kids.
