1 2 Buckle My Shoe Preschool offers a warm and nurturing environment where children develop physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
My curriculum uses both age appropriate and individually appropriate activities that include writing and language development, problem-solving experiences, manipulatives,art projects, music, science and physical exercise. Circle Times: are filled wit
h storybooks, puppets, flannel activities, finger plays, songs, poems, calendar, letter, color, shape and number of the week, show and tell and much more. Worksheets: Include themed materials, writing, math, letters, colors, shapes etc. Art: We do a daily themed art project. Daily homemade cooking. Music : Musical games, dance, instruments and songs. Outdoor play: Children get fresh air; use their large motor skills with balancing and climbing. Draw with chalk and just run. We do games and activities outside that go along with our themed curriculum. Free Play includes -
Dramatic play = House, Kitchen, Dress up, baby dolls, puppets. Manipulatives = Puzzles, games, lacing, gears ect. A Sensory/Science area = Sensory box, Play dough, flubber and cooking. The block area = Building Toys
Writing center/Art = Tracing pages, handwriting, painting, coloring and cutting. Imagination Station= Cars, Action figures, Dinosaurs ect. Reading /Quiet center = Books of all kinds and time to relax and take a

I am a mother of four amazing children, two daughters and two sons. I have been married 25 yrs to my best friend and husband, who works for the Pierce County Sheriff Department. I love animals and have adopted 1 cats, 2 Old English Sheep Dogs and giant 4 Rabbits. I have always had a great love and passion for children and enjoy everything about them. I am a part time photographer and enjoy capturing my children’s lives on film. We love family and traditions. We enjoy family outdoor activities including family walks, hikes and annual camping trips. We are active community neighborhood, sports and our local church. Work History/ Experience
I have 20 years of experience working with children. Currently I am a self-employed Child Care/ Preschool Teacher and a part time Photographer. My experience includes Musical Theater Teacher for the YMCA, Lead Preschool Teacher for the City of Puyallup Parks and Recreation, Community Support Specialist for Catholic Community Services working with at risk youth, teacher for Pierce County Mom's Recovery Program, Children's Ministry Director for Tacoma Foursquare Church and foster parent for DSHS. I have current and up to date Washington State Child Care Training. I received Drama training through Pierce College/Encore Theater. I am current and up to date on all my CPR/HIV certifications.
