Trailblazer Families!

We often encourage our students to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and pursue opportunities that help them grow. As educators, we strive to model those same values. With that in mind, I am writing to share some exciting and bittersweet news.
Our Assistant Principal, Marcus Micheles, has accepted the position of Assistant Principal at Edgemont Junior High School for the upcoming school year.

During his time at Shaw Road, Marcus has made a tremendous impact on our school community. His care for students, commitment to families, support of staff, and dedication to creating a positive school culture have helped make Shaw Road a special place for children to learn and grow. We are grateful for the leadership, compassion, and energy he has brought to our school each day.

While we are sad to see Marcus leave Shaw Road, we are excited for him as he takes this next step in his professional journey. This opportunity reflects his commitment to continual growth and his passion for serving students. Edgemont is gaining an outstanding leader, and we know he will continue to make a positive difference there.

I know that transitions can bring questions, especially as we prepare for the start of a new school year. Please know that our focus remains on providing a strong start for students and continuing the excellent work happening at Shaw Road. We will share additional information as staffing plans move forward.

Please join me in congratulating Marcus and thanking him for all he has contributed to our Shaw Road community. We are incredibly proud of him and wish him all the best in this exciting new chapter.

Our 5th and 6th grade band and orchestra students did a fantastic job showcasing their hard work, growth, and talent during tonight’s concert. We are so proud of our Trailblazers!

Tonight was also a special one as it marked Mr. Bob Rink’s final concert at Shaw Road Elementary as he begins his retirement journey. Thank you, Mr. Rink, for the countless students you have inspired through music and for the lasting impact you have made on our school community

As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we’ll be discussing:

💚 End-of-year activities
💚 Plans and goals for next year
💚 Voting in our new PTA board members

We are also still urgently looking to fill our Treasurer and Secretary positions for next year.

These roles are essential for keeping our PTA running and continuing the events, programs, and support our students and staff rely on. No experience is needed, and both positions can be shared by two people! We understand life is busy, and we work together as a team to make volunteering manageable for everyone.
