Sensory play is not only an important part of learning for young, growing minds, it is one of the best ways for children to learn- with hands on exploration. It’s an engaging, fun way to ignite curiosity, work on problem solving skills and inspire creativity, among many other benefits!! We use sensory play and activities every day in our classrooms to offer the best practices for our students.

Do you know it is important to have children work on vertical surfaces?? In our classrooms we work with our students on vertical surfaces doing many different activities from playing games and doing art projects to writing and working with magnets. Vertical surface work has many benefits including developing core strength and fine motor control along with promoting spatial awareness and midline crossing.

Did you know that we have our kiddos work on strengthening their hand muscles long before we ever give them crayons or scissors? It is so important to improve their hand strength so they will be able to write and use scissors correctly. Thankfully we use a ton of fun, hands-on ways to work on their fine motor skills so they can be successful! What is your kiddos favorite way to work on their fine motor skills??
