🎨✨ Thank You, Pierce County Arts Commission! ✨🎨

We are incredibly grateful to the Pierce County Arts Commission for supporting our student art programs through the Pierce County Arts Grant.

Because of this investment, hundreds of students had opportunities to build confidence, express themselves creatively, develop friendships, and strengthen important social-emotional skills. Through programs like Art Over Recess, students found a safe and welcoming space to connect, collaborate, and grow.
The impact has been remarkable:

🎨 317 students participated in 39 Art Over Recess sessions at Woodland Elementary.
💚 93.3% of students finished sessions feeling calm, focused, and ready to learn.
📈 Student attendance increased from 88.76% to 90.01% among participating students.

Beyond the numbers, we saw students gain confidence, support one another, build new friendships, and develop a stronger sense of belonging at school.
Thank you, Pierce County, for believing in the power of the arts to inspire, connect, and uplift young people. Your support is helping create more engaged, confident, and successful students throughout our community.

Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in American history and serves as an opportunity to reflect on the enduring importance of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

At Communities In Schools of Puyallup, we're committed to helping every student feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Today, we encourage our community to learn, reflect, and celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans, past and present.
