On Friday, we came together to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ❤️

While we experienced a few sound system challenges, our students truly shined through adversity—showing flexibility, perseverance, and heart. Our ASB officers confidently led the assembly, members of our Inclusion Crew shared meaningful quotes, and our 6th grade leaders provided background on Dr. King and his impact. We were also moved by a beautiful poem shared by students from Ms. Chitwood’s and Ms. Porter’s classrooms.

Even when technology didn’t cooperate, our goal was met: creating space for student leadership and amplifying student voice. We are so proud of our Hunt Highlanders for leading with courage, respect, and purpose. 💙🐾

⏰ Early Release Reminder

All schools will have a 2.5-hour early release on Friday, January 16 for a Secondary School Improvement / Elementary Grading Day.

Please plan ahead for pickup times and after-school care.

Welcome Back, Highlanders! 💛💙

We hope our students and families enjoyed a restful break! We are so excited to welcome everyone back to Hunt Elementary today.

📅 Monday Reminder:
🕘 Doors open at 9:20 AM — please do not drop students off before this time, as supervision is not available.

🍎 Breakfast & Lunch:
Both meals will be served today. Menus can be found on the PSD website.

🌧️ Rainy Season Ready:
It’s that time of year! Please be sure students come dressed for the weather so they can enjoy outdoor recess.

We can’t wait to see our Highlanders back in the building—ready to learn, grow, and shine together. 🐾

Edit: Due to the number of schools without and no ETA on return of power all PSD schools are closed - December 17th.

2-Hour Late Start Due to High Winds/power outages. Doors will open at 10:20. School starts at 10:35. Students will go directly to class (no gym start). There will be no breakfast served today.

No before school activities to include Marimba Band.

Please dress students in warm layers due to the weather and possible intermittent heat.

Today is "Ugly Sweater" day for our spirit week - a great way to stay extra warm!
