Another 53.1 mile relay race in the books! None of us were completely injury free or properly trained, but we still took 5th place in our division. More importantly, we had a ton of fun for the 7:32 hours we ran together! Finding an accountability buddy for running and workouts is crucial to staying on track! Can I be your accountability partner?! #

Social media took a back seat as I was finishing up another certification. Gotta love seeing a client's success story! My girl, Sharameh, has been killing her gym sessions with me twice a week. Definitely paid off as she completed a half marathon this weekend! Lifting is so beneficial for all you runners. How can I help you attain your goals?!

What's your motivation? Mine is working out and running with others.
This team of 6 has participated in a 52 mile relay from Mt. Rainier to Ruston way yesterday for our 4th time. No official results yet. We finished around 6 hours and 45 minutes. May have placed and won a spike...or we might not have. We are still winners just for showing up and getting it done!
It is hard. It is exhausting. It wears your muscles down. BUT...the memories, the laughs, the triumph of finishing it SO worth it!
Lessons learned:
1) Your body is way more capable than you think.
2) The plan never goes as expected.
3) Cheering on your teammates and other teams is one of the best parts.
4) Our bodies crave movement.
5) Nutrition is essential to keeping our bodies functioning at their optimal level.
6) Training with others is the most fun.
How can I help you achieve your motivation?

What kind of recovery is best?
One of the benefits of consistently working out and running is knowing what your body needs.
I completed a 52 mile relay yesterday with 5 friends. What does that look like? Up at 5 am, drive 45 min to race start, jump in an out of the car 12 times, travel 52 miles, run 2x (4.6 miles at 8:03 pace in 71° and 4.1 miles at 8:34 pace 3 hours later in 68° and 71% humidity), for a total of about 8 hours.
My recovery? Stretch, foam roll, and massage last night. Foam roll, 5K shakeout at 8:45 pace, and stretch, and hot tub soak today. Of course, proper nutrition and hydration are critical.
There is no one right way to recover. It depends on the person. Want me to help you figure out your best recovery method(s)?
