When the Fire Science program gets a new toy, the admin team has to take it for a test ride!

A huge thank you to East Pierce Fire & Rescue for their generous donation and continued support of our Fire Science program. Partnerships like this provide our students with valuable hands-on learning experiences and help prepare them for future careers in the fire service.

Congratulations to PCSC Advanced Manufacturing Instructor Evan Thomas, who recently served as the keynote speaker at the Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeships (AJAC) 2026 Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony!

A 2017 AJAC apprenticeship graduate himself, Mr. Thomas shared his personal journey and experiences in the program, inspiring the next generation of skilled manufacturing professionals.

PCSC is proud to partner with AJAC to provide real-world opportunities for our students. During their senior year, second-year Advanced Manufacturing students participate in the AJAC apprenticeship program, spending three days each week working in a local machine shop and two days at Pierce County Skills Center, gaining valuable hands-on experience while continuing their education.

We're proud of Mr. Thomas for giving back to the program that helped launch his career and for helping prepare our students for success in advanced manufacturing careers.

He did it!

Meet Dr. Sam Kim!

Dr. Kim, a former PCSC Pharmacy Technician student (c/o 2019 - Franklin Pierce High School Franklin Pierce Schools), has officially graduated from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy—becoming the first PCSC Pharmacy Technician student to complete pharmacy school!

In addition to this incredible achievement, Dr. Kim serves on our Pharmacy Technician Advisory Board and is a frequent guest speaker at PCSC, inspiring the next generation of pharmacy professionals.

We are incredibly proud of you and all that you've accomplished, Sam. Congratulations, Dr. Kim!

Congratulations to Maile B.!

Maile (Washington HS) recently completed our two-year Pharmacy Technician program and has made program history as the first student to pass the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam!

Even more exciting, Maile already has a Pharmacy Technician position waiting for her and will begin her career as soon as she receives her state license.

We are incredibly proud of Maile's hard work, dedication, and achievement. She is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished through commitment, perseverance, and career-focused education.

Last week, PCSC held our Senior Awards Night! For the first time ever, we hosted the event off-site because we have outgrown our commons space — a true testament to the growth and success of our students and programs.

This year:
174 seniors earned honor cords to wear at graduation
We recognized our SkillsUSA and HOSA state placers
17 students earned SkillsUSA letters
We celebrated 17 Seniors of the Year representing each of our programs
Three PCSC students also received scholarships from local business and community organizations

Congratulations to all of our seniors on their incredible accomplishments. We are proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see what your future holds!
