Our founder, Amora Bussey, has been a Music Educator for over 20 years, teaching in various settings throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as Western Europe. A specialist in Piano, Flute, and Vocal performance, Amora also offers extensive knowledge in Musical Theory and Composition. As a highly trained and certified Music Therapist, Amora has worked in schools across Western Europe, bringing music to life within communities of special needs children and adults. Now settled in the great Pacific Northwest, Amora offers lessons to students from all over the country, who come to receive her instruction and expertise. Accolades:

And just like that, another season begins. This year, after 12+ hours of auditions last May, 28 hopeful candidates made it onto our Briar Thomas Conservatory Performance Team. These are some of our hardest working and most dedicated students our school has to offer. This team is comprised of students ranging in age from 7 years old to adult. They each are in multiple ensembles weekly, as well as individual private lessons studying anywhere from 1-4 instruments each. We have a very exciting season ahead, with monthly team meetings led by coaches Colin Speirs , Nick Orlando Delossantos, and myself, 3 masterclass clinician guests Reid Wolch, Jesse Pierson, and Padua Canty coming to visit us throughout the year, performances in the Tacoma Music Collaborative Trios Festivals I and II, and their Concertos Festivals I and II, our BTC Winter Festival, and Summer Showcase, as well as invitations to observe symphonic dress rehearsals with Calder Failla and the Olympia Symphony Orchestra. We are busy, we are excited, we are the BTC Performance Team!

Intramural Musicians is a program dedicated to bringing together professional musicians and passionate amateurs, creating meaningful connections through a shared love of music. It celebrates the journeys of those who have discovered, or rediscovered, the joy of making music, reminding us that artistry is not defined by profession, but by the heart.

It is a true privilege to share the stage with individuals who, despite the demands of life, decades-long careers, and countless responsibilities, have returned to their first love to nurture the music within them. Their dedication is a beautiful testament to the enduring power of music to inspire and unite us all.

Our annual Mid-Summer Showcase was another great success! Filled with wonderful student trios, the BTC Orchestra, Cello Choir, Jazz Band, and Choir! I love being able to offer an ensemble focused concert each year, it really gives them a chance to shine. Well done everyone!
