Important info for high schoolers!!!

🍎🧡 TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY, PUXICO! 🖤🍎

We are excited to welcome our students back for the first day of school tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26!

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for Open House last night. It was wonderful to see our buildings full of students and families getting ready for a great year!

A few important reminders as we prepare for tomorrow morning:

🚌 Transportation: Please finalize any transportation changes with your child’s building office before noon tomorrow. The end of the first day is extremely busy in each building office, and we do not want to miss an important transportation change. Unless it is an emergency, transportation changes will not be accepted after noon on the first day.

🚗 Morning Drop-Off: Student drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m. at the north end of the Puxico Activity Center/FEMA Building. Please follow staff directions and use extra caution throughout campus.

⚠️ Please drive slowly! We will have buses, student drivers, families, and excited students walking throughout campus and near our bus stops. Give yourself a few extra minutes and help us keep everyone safe.

🏫 High School Students: All PHS students will report to the ARG upon arrival.

🎓 PHS Class of 2027: Seniors will take their Last, First Day Picture on the FEMA steps at 7:50 a.m. Parents and guardians who would like to participate should arrive in the FEMA lot at approximately 7:45 a.m.

🥞 Classes begin at 8:00 a.m., and free breakfast is available for all students from 7:30-8:00a.m

Please take a few minutes to review the graphic for additional drop-off and first-day information.

We know tomorrow morning will be busy, exciting, and maybe even a little emotional for some of our families. Thank you for your patience as we work together to get everyone where they need to be safely.

The Fall sports MSHSAA/parent meeting will be on Thursday, August 20th at 5:30 in the FEMA. We will go over the MSHSAA handbook and other expectations for the upcoming season. The sports and activities we will meet with are: Baseball, Volleyball, Cross Country both High School and Junior High, Band, and Junior High Girls Basketball.

It’s almost time! Thursday, August 13 is the day for returning students to get ready for the new school year and take their fall yearbook photos!

📸 All student pictures will be taken in the ARG Lobby.

🏫 PUXICO ELEMENTARY
Class rosters will be posted on classroom doors.

🧡 PUXICO JUNIOR HIGH
Schedules may be picked up from the JH Office:

⏰ 8:00–11:00 a.m.
⏰ 1:00–2:30 p.m.

🖤 PUXICO HIGH SCHOOL

Seniors: 8:00–9:30 a.m.
Juniors: 9:30–11:00 a.m.
Sophomores: 1:00–2:30 p.m.

PHS students will pick up schedules, get lockers, select parking spots, and take their fall yearbook photos in the ARG Lobby.

🚗 HIGH SCHOOL PARKING REMINDER

Students selecting a parking spot must bring:

• License plate number
• Proof of insurance
• $5
• Parent signature

📸 IMPORTANT SENIOR PHOTO REMINDER!

Seniors, the photo taken Thursday in the ARG Lobby will also be used for your senior composite. Students are encouraged to wear a dressy top, collared shirt, or shirt without graphic prints for their senior composite picture.

We are excited to welcome new students and families to Puxico R-8 School! If your student will be joining us for the 2026-2027 school year, New Student Registration is Wednesday, August 12!

⏰ 8:00–11:00 a.m. & 1:00–3:00 p.m.
📍 Puxico Activity Center (FEMA)
🎒 All Grade Levels

Parents/guardians should bring the following documents if available:

✅ Proof of Residency
(current property tax statement, property deed or mortgage payment statement, electric bill in parent’s name, real estate contract, legal property description, rental agreement. No cell phone or internet statements allowed)
✅ Student Shot/Immunization Record
✅ Birth Certificate
✅ Social Security Card
