Have you heard about our new Harkness table?!

Last year, a tree growing right here on our campus became the beginning of something pretty special.

Today, that tree has a new life as our Harkness table—a beautiful, handcrafted gathering place in the classroom where our eighth graders can learn, listen, question, collaborate, and share ideas together.

The table represents so much of what we value at TGS: connection, collaboration, creativity, sustainability, and learning by doing. And its story is a true community story, involving students, teachers, families, and many curious, creative, capable, and talented hands along the way.

Now, the table is officially in the classroom—and yesterday, it hosted its first start-of-year parent conferences! We couldn’t think of a better way to begin its next chapter. ❤️

The best way to kick off school year! 🍎✨
The TGS community gathered for our annual all-school family picnic. It was a joy to see new and returning students, parents, and teachers laughing, playing, and connecting outdoors.
We were especially thrilled to welcome our new Head of School, Margaret Schlachter, to her very first campus-wide celebration. There’s nothing quite like sharing a meal and sunshine to get everyone energized for the first day of school next week.

That start of school year is around the corner! ✨ While our students are still enjoying the final stretch of summer, our faculty and staff are hard at work behind the scenes. From weeding and sweeping to planting and wheelbarrow duty, the team is turning our campus into a gorgeous, welcoming haven for opening day. We cannot wait to see these halls filled with life very soon! 🌱🏫

And just like that, another summer of TGS camp is in the books! We are already getting excited for next year, and we hope you can join us! While campus might be a little quieter these days, you can rest assured a core team is still hard at work getting ready for another great academic year—we can’t wait to share some of what’s in store!
