United Christian Ministries Hattiesburg, MS - Home United Christian Ministries empowers children and families to walk in God’s ways and move out of poverty in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

What a sweet year we have had! We cannot say enough about our kind, faithful, encouraging volunteers. They have loved these precious children so well.

We are so grateful for our volunteers! Retired teacher extraordinaire Suzan Newman is just one who lends her time and energy to love and encourage our students. Some of the girls wrote her a card that said she was "the cutest lady they had ever seen." And we agree!

We are so grateful for the ladies of Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg who provided us with a $500 Sam's gift card to purchase snacks for the children we serve in our after-school program. Having full bellies helps the children concentrate when we are helping with their homework, which is essential to academic success.

Thank you all for coming to our open house last night! Turnout was great! We would love to give a tour to anyone at anytime! Hours are 3:30-5:30 Monday through Thursday. Just call Molly at (601) 467-6797.

We love when students from PCS volunteer. These sweet, energetic young ladies helped ready our facility for our open house on Thursday, April 18.

After-school students had an Easter treat today thanks to Nancy Jane Fine. Nancy Jane loves a party and is so creative and enthusiastic about helping us celebrate all holidays. The children were so grateful for their goodies (especially the $5 in a plastic egg!).

Hot wings (their favorite!) were served by our longtime, faithful volunteer Greg Anderson.

We are so thankful for all the support and love shown to us!

We are so grateful for the hard work the youth of First Presbyterian did to help tidy up the facility where our after-school program is held each Monday-Thursday. They replaced floor tiles, washed windows, planted flowers, and loaded items to be donated to Edwards St. Fellowship Thrift Store. Thanks to adult leaders, too! The support of many in our community allows us to faithfully minister to these children.

Such a fun evening with our UCM families. Especially touching were the testimonies of those who met Jack Kennedy as very young children and who are following Jesus today.
