Are you familiar with Calcio Storico? June 24th is San Giovanni, the patron saint of Florence, and the Florentines celebrate in many ways, one of which is the calcio storico championship. This year, on Saturday, June 13, i Rossi of Santa Maria Novella will compete against i Verdi of San Giovanni and on Sunday, June 14, i Bianchi of Santo Spirito will compete against gli Azurri of Santa Croce. The winners will move on to the final on Wednesday, June 24. It's a big deal in the city! Then there are festivals to celebrate the city's patron saint!
