๐Ÿ›Ž๏ธ๐Ÿ›Ž๏ธIMPORTANT UPDATE

After meaningful years of serving homeschool families through HSLDA, I am transitioning from my formal staff role while remaining deeply committed to supporting the homeschool community.

One of the greatest privileges of my time at HSLDA was helping create and develop the Military Outreach Program, advocating for and equipping military-connected homeschool families navigating the unique challenges of military life and educational continuity.

In my role as a High School Educational Specialist, I also had the opportunity to encourage and equip families through conference speaking engagements across the United States and overseas in Germany, addressing topics related to homeschooling high school, college preparation, NCAA, educational transitions and training military branches on outreach to the homeschool community.

Although this chapter is changing, I look forward to continuing engagement with HSLDA through future contractor opportunities and collaborative efforts alongside the Military Homeschoolers Association. Military Homeschoolers Association

I remain passionate about strengthening support, resources, and advocacy for homeschool families, particularly within the military community.

โค๏ธI am deeply grateful for the relationships, partnerships, and opportunities cultivated during my time with HSLDA. Serving families has always been at the heart of this work, and I look forward to continuing that mission moving forward.

๐Ÿ›Ž๏ธAll my military homeschooling support will be shifting under Military Homeschoolers Association.

โžก๏ธMy email: [email protected]

โžก๏ธMore details to come from HSLDA and MHA.

Schedule for the day of the ASVAB test:
9:00- 11:00 ASVAB CEP test administered
11:00- 12-00 PTI (Post Test Interpretation)
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Break
1:00 - 2:00 ASVAB Workshop
2:00 - 3:00 Natalie's Workshop "Military Service Pathways"

The ASVAB CEP (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Career Exploration Program) is the only comprehensive and completely no-cost career planning resource that empowers students nationwide to align their strengths, interests, and values with a post-secondary plan. The CEP involves three assessments: (a) the ASVAB, an aptitude test that estimates your capacity for academic and vocational endeavors; (b) the Find Your Interests (FYI) inventory, which identifies job activities you would like to perform; and (c) the Work Values Situational Judgment Activity (WV SJA), which identifies what you most value in, and desire to receive from, the work you do.

Following ASVAB administration (about 90 minutes), students will participate in a Post-Test Interpretation (PTI) session where they (a) learn what their ASVAB scores mean, (b) complete the FYI and WV SJA, and (c) begin to explore occupations (we link to more than 1,000 civilian and military careers through the Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network [O*NET]). Homeschool parents are encouraged to attend the PTI session.

ASVAB CEP is open to students in 10th grade and above (college students included). There is no obligation to military service or to speak to a recruiter. Indeed, students need not have any interest in the military whatsoever to participate in and benefit from ASVAB CEP.

Students need to be registered for testing, and they need to bring a laptop or Chromebook, and paper and pencil.

Your contact info will be given to the test providers.
