Welcome Atix to the PFD Warrior family. A retired 6 year old German Shepard who served his country as a US Government EDC dog. Solid/ well-behaved dog that now gets to enjoy life as a family pet. His love for the water is already on display. We look forward to having him present during future courses.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and departments affected by this horrible tragedy. To our extended first responder family, our sincere condolences. Be safe and continue to look out for each other.

It is with great sadness that I announce that Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Matthew Tobben died this morning during a swift water rescue operation.

Assistant Chief Matt Tobben was assisting the Columbia Fire Department during a swift water rescue operation at Rangeline Street and Bear Creek early this morning. The firefighters had rescued two individuals when the zodiac boat overturned and Chief Tobben was thrown from the boat and drowned. The Columbia Firefighter and the two victims originally rescued were able to be rescued and are doing ok.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

It's a wrap! Filming on the special project that PFD Warrior had the privilege to be part of has come to a close. Stay turned in the next few weeks for the final video to be released on how to escape a sinking vehicle.

Special shout out to Amber from the Kids and Car Safety non-profit organization for allowing us to be part of this video production. We had a blast!

We also want to thank Trident Rescue LLC, Chief of Bourbon Fire Protection District, our on-site safety diver, and the Chucks Wrecker Service operator. It was truly a great experience to work alongside all of you.

Swiftwater Vehicle Rescue class completed today for this group. We had a great time getting the opportunity to teach and work alongside them. All the participants actively engaged the entire class and worked together to complete all the necessary tasks. The hospitality was awesome and we felt at home during our visit. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to come out and teach the course.

PFD Warrior has arrived in Bourbon, Missouri, to teach a Swiftwater Vehicle Rescue class.

Many thanks to the Bourbon Fire Protection District for hosting the class. A special thank you to Trident Rescue LLC for assisting us in making this class come together.

We are excited to be here and look forward to another successful class.

A month ago, I was blessed to be working with this group in the picture. It was my last shift before going to the Training Center. There are so many memories over a span of 15 years at that station. But with all things in life, we recalibrate and seek to add more experiences. While we all keep learning each day, we should also step outside our comfort zone for more growth. So that's what I did...

It was truly an honor to lead so many great people over the years. I learned so much working with people that all had different backgrounds and beliefs. While it was challenging at times, I wouldn't change any of it. They all taught me how important each individual was in the group to succeed.

As for my new beginning, I will remain surrounded by more great people with new ideas who want to make things better. It will only make me a better person and leader. I am excited for new growth!
