Jane and I are happy to finally share with you our FB page. Jane and I met each other at a writing workshop in June 2010 then ended up working together at an elementary school in August 2010. We worked as Paraprofessionals specializing in reading and math remediation for our struggling students, K- 5th grade. Combined, we have 26 years of experience in helping students while supporting what teac
hers are doing in the classroom. We both get very excited when we create new ideas that keeps learning fun. Five years ago, as we were sitting in another Professional Development workshop, we both looked at each other and said "We could do this" (meaning we could create a class to help others, too). We put our heads together, powered through a year of brainstorming, creating, and p**f, Kinesthetically Speaking was born! We received enormous support and was asked to create another Professional Development class, so we did. Kinesthetically Speaking, Too!, Kinesthetically Speaking, Again!, and Arithmetic That Sticks!. Needless to say, we were crazy busy. Through the years, teachers, support staff and parents wanted to make or purchase our activities. Wow! What an honor. We were able to reach so many students and families with these fun learning tools. That brings us to the present. We continue to create new "play with purpose" activities and perfect the original ones to stay in line with the standards. Often the kiddos don't even think of it as learning because it's so much fun to play. 85% of students are kinesthetic learners so all of our activities are hands on or you're up moving around. We hope you find them to be helpful to you and your child/students. Oh, are you curious why we call ourselves Jacks? It is the first initial in our names...Jane, Angie, Curran, Kopp! Pretty cool, huh?
