📚 Favorite Class / Professor: My favorite history class is probably 469: Seminar in History with Professor Ivan Gonzalez-Soto.
💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: I think someone should be a history major if they love writing, history, and current events.
🎓 Plans After Graduation: I plan on continuing my education and obtaining a Ph.D. in either History or Political Science.

📚 Favorite Class / Professor: My favorite class was History 316 (Civil War & Reconstruction).
💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: History isn’t just stories about the past—it’s a lens for understanding the present. Studying history helps you think critically, analyze evidence, and engage thoughtfully with the world around you.
🎓 Plans After Graduation: I plan to launch my career as a writer, working as an essayist and toward publishing historically informed fiction.

🏡 Hometown: I grew up in Kalama, WA and have lived in Richland, WA for the past 28 years.
📚 Favorite Class / Professor: My favorite class was History 314 (American Roots) taught by Dr. Robert Bauman. Dr. Brigit Farley, now retired, is a close second.
💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: Studying history helps us understand how the world got to where it is today. It teaches us to evaluate sources, see multiple perspectives, and build skills that are valuable in almost any professional field.
🎓 Plans After Graduation: I will continue working at Caltech in my current position.

📚 Favorite Class / Professor: My favorite classes were those I took while studying abroad, as well as HIST 465 (Representations of the Holocaust) and B_LAW 210.
💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: A history major builds strong reading, research, and analytical skills while helping you understand political and cultural contexts through engaging coursework.

🏡 Hometown: I’m from Omaha, NE.
📚 Favorite Class / Professor: My favorite history class was Military History.
💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: It’s so important to not only remember our past, but to learn from the mistakes of the past so we don’t repeat them. History is such an interesting field and helps you understand the psychological aspects of society as well.
🎓 Plans After Graduation: I’m going to earn my master’s degree in secondary education and hope to teach social sciences at the high school level.

💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: Being a history major gives you the ability to practice real world skills while learning about interesting and meaningful topics.
🎓 Plans After Graduation: I plan to continue working for Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho and eventually study Museology so I can work in museums.

💡 Why I Chose History / Social Studies: History is the best place to be if you like stepping into the mindsets of others and making the tacit parts of life explicit. This major helps you continually reshape your worldview and understand how social structures move and change.
🎓 Plans After Graduation: I plan to become a public school teacher back home, focusing on World History, Pacific Northwest History, or U.S. History.
