Tomorrow morning at 9 am is the 20th Annual Pumpkin Drop! The event takes place in Webster Hall on the ground floor. We will have pumpkin decorating, physics demos, and a space themed halloween room to explore. There will be snacks and drinks provided, and tons of fun for all ages! We will begin dropping at 10 am. I hope to see you all there!

We had tons of fun visiting the LIGO Hanford Observatory last Thursday! They weren’t taking data when we went, so we were able to get a close look in the clean room (hence the terrible hair nets). It was a beautiful sunny day spent on a historical site watching new discoveries being made. We want to thank everybody who donated or shared our crowdfunding project, you all made this possible for us and we are eternally grateful! This experience was incredible and brought new career opportunities on the horizons of many of our members. Thank you so much to the for helping us participate in !

Hi Everyone! Today at 11 AM is the WSU Physics and Astronomy Club Egg Drop for Family Weekend! The event takes place on the ground floor, and the drop itself will be viewed from outside. Come make a contraption to hold and egg, and try to keep it from breaking when we release it from the 4th floor of Webster! There will also be physics demos and refreshments. Physics fun for all ages, don't miss it!🍳

Hi everyone! We've reached our initial goal of $1200!

Thank you to all who have supported us thus far, we wanted to update everyone now that we've raised this money, and share our plans for our new funding goal.

Going forward, donations will go towards additional hotel rooms, food costs with the intent of lowering the financial burden for people wanting to go on the trip, and other activities outlined in our description.

We couldn't have imagined how much support we'd received from the community; thank you to everyone for donating and sharing :)

We are very excited to announce that we have a CougStarter crowdfunding project! To help fund a trip to the Hanford Reactor and LIGO National Lab, we are fundraising with Washington State University Foundation . We would greatly appreciate any help we can get, whether that be sharing this on your social media or donating yourself. This trip would be an incredible opportunity for our physics undergraduates. We would like to thank the WSU Foundation for providing us a platform to make this trip a possibility.

Don’t miss it! Tonight there will be 6 planets aligned in our night sky 🌌 We will be hosting a 5:30 pm viewing at the Jewett observatory!

Saturn, Neptune, Venus, the moon, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars will form a “parade” line in the sky just after sunset. This unique arrangement makes for a fantastic night of viewing!

The sky has been so clear lately, let us hope that Pullman weather continues to agree with us. See you all there🪐
