Hey there, SFCC! I’m Steven A. Mejia, Ph.D., and I’m a prof at WSU. Super stoked to be faculty at the Center! What I love about sociology is how it helps us see our everyday lives from a fresh perspective. Ever wonder why we act differently at our jobs compared to hanging out with friends? Or why certain chances seem to pop up for some folks but not for others? Sociology starts with these everyday curiosities and challenges us to dig deeper into the bigger social trends that shape our world.

‼️We're still looking for services, civic groups, churches, and non-profits to table at the Power of Place Information Fair on Saturday, June 27th, from 2-4 PM at Pine Street Plaza.

The purpose of this information fair is to provide Pullman residents with an opportunity to learn about the services, civic groups, churches, and non-profits that serve the community and make Pullman a unique, wonderful place to live—to celebrate the Power of Place!

Vendors are asked to bring information about their programs and services (as well as activities or giveaways/swag if they want to!) and be prepared to answer questions from the community. It’s family friendly (but not intended specifically for children) and should be low-key.

And the Community Band of the Palouse will be performing!
